Yonex VCORE Pro (310) vs Yonex VCORE

Just bought a Yonex VCORE Pro 97 (310)
I think the racquet is heavy to swing that make my forehand too sluggish and too heavy and powerful to control.
I’ve tried Babolat Pure Drive Tour the Yonex EZONE 98 and the Wilson Blade 98 (18x20) (2015 edition) before too.
I think that the Babolat Pure Drive Tour is too powerful that I don’t have enough control.
The Yonex EZONE is a nice racquet. However I don’t like its low stability but it's a nice racquet after adding lead on 3 and 9 o'clock. Maybe a bit harder to swing will suit me? ( like something in between the Ezone and Vcore Pro???)
Wilson Blade 98 (18x20) (2015 edition) is heavy to swing
Therefore I am looking for a racquet that is
low power?(more control?)
easy to swing
more control that make me have enough consistency not only on groundstroke but also serve
similar stability and Stiffness
Nice touch and feel

Now I am considering
the Yonex VCORE 98(too sluggish if I play it???)( which is harder to swing comparing to VCORE Pro)
Head Graphene 360 Speed MP (with some lead on 3 and 9 o'clock)

Any advice?Thx!

Yonex Vcore 98 has a heavier swing weight than the Vpro 310. If you found the 310 too heavy you def won't like the feel of the Vcore. Have you considered the Vpro 290? Lighter version of the 310.

I know that the number of vcore 98 is greater. But what's the actual feel?I've thought vpro is a light swingweight(317) racquet but I think It's just similar to the blade(328)

The Vcore Pro is very head light...

I think what you are seeing is the Vcore pro is a very low powered frame. You have to generate your own power. Try a more powerful string, lower tenisions etc.

As mentioned above, the Vcore 98 swings heavier then the Vcore pro according to the numbers.

I've tried before. It's really comfort and suit me. However I still want I little bit more spin

You are probably looking for something with lower swing weight, based on the number of times the phrase "too heavy to swing" used.

Have you tried the regular Wilson Clash (295g)?

I have tried it and I did not like the feel of the stick. It felt dead to me compared to the Vpro. I also felt it making my strokes a bit slower. I had to work a bit more to get the shots I wanted out of the racquet.

I hit both rackets....

In my view, the Pro was much lighter around the net and I felt I could generate more pace and spin from the baseline. The Vcore 98 had more power but I didn't like any other atrributes about it.

Playing with the Vcore Pro you have to play big to get everything from it. Full swings on servers and ground strokes are its sweet spot. This isn't a frame that has easy defensive power style of play.


Rambling now but I love the Vcore Pro. It suits my style of play.

I have both the 310 pro and the Vcore 98. The 98 is an easier frame to use and plays lighter, regardless of the SW numbers. That said, I much prefer the 310 because I feel so much more connected to the ball. As a result, I play better with it. It’s not a super demanding frame by any means, but like Rusbus said, you need to have a bigger style of play.

The 310 has a kind of low swingweight, but it does not play that way. It actually has a medium high twistweight. You may be sensitive to twistweight and that’s messing with you a little. You can use this chart to look at other frames twistweight numbers. Wilson frames in general have higher twistweights because they like to add weighting at 3 and 9. I forget what they call the tech, but its the bumps there.

I agree with you that the 310 feels similar to the Blade in terms of swingspeed, which is why I personally like it. I have no real idea why that is, based on the numbers, but the 310 plays like a frame with a higher Sw than listed.

Agree with many of the thoughts above. I would stick with the VCP 310 and try different strings before jumping ship. I have 8 grams of lead on mine, and it still swings fast. Video some groundies and post if you want some free feedback!
