Yonex Vcore Tour 89 and 97 specs

Generally, how does a Yonex grip size 4 compare to a Wilson grip size? Does it feel equal or smaller?

Generally, grip shape as well as size vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. IIRC, Wilson tends to be a bit more "squared off" and Yonex is a bit "rounder". A good grip customizer can easily match shape and size to your preference.

i need string recommendation for my Vcore 89

i have been stringing with Lux Alu power at 50, i need something with more feel and playability and that will be softer for the arm.

thanks

I've kind of settled on Dunlop Black Widow 17 on mine. Soft poly with almost tour bite like spin.

It doesn't get any better than Polystar Energy. Very soft, tons of feel and control, and great spin. Only downside is that it doesn't last more than 4 or 5 hours before the power level increases significantly.

I feel you.

You might want to try Kirschbaum Proline X. Stiff, but still comfortable and with great control. Only drawback it notched faster than average.

Hi!! To all PB10 Mid former users who made the switch to vcore 89!
Some comparison would be helpful, positives and negatives.
The flex of the frame is it the same as the PB10 Mid because earlier in this thread somebody mentioned that it has similar flex, didn't like that wobble -flex on PB10 Mid!
Thanks!

If 97 Tour is THAT good, why both Hewitt and Wawrinka are playing with 95D with paintjob?

Hewitt I can understand that he allways played with that type of frame...But Wawrinka?

He played with a Head Prestige Pro (PT57A) before, that has a much more simillar string bed array with the 97 Tour, than it has with the Vcore 95D that he really uses under that 97 paintjob.

What is the reason? 95D is a much more of a players' racquet while the 97 Tour is more of a spin friendly but with less power?

So many wrongs in one post...
Wawrinka did not play with the PT57A, he played with a special layup MG Prestige Pro (TGK238.3). The Prestige Pro was also 95 sq in stick, just like the 95D. However, Both, 57A and Prestige Pro are VERY different from a Yonex.

Yeah you are right...he used the TGK 16x19, not PT57A. Sorry.

And I know that Head Prestige, even if it's a 98", it's more a 95".

But the long throat and 20.5mm beam of 97 Tour is more similar to Head, than 95D is. The 95D has on the throat 6 main strings, while 97 has 8 main strings, just like Head Prestige).

So, can you tell me why Hewitt also uses the 95D and not the 97?

And, what are the differences in feel and power between 95D and 97?
Which one has a closer feel with the Head Youtek Prestige Pro?

NO. The 95D came out well before the 97 Tour 330. Wawrinka was signed when the 95D came out so he used that. Probably didn't make sense to switch after dialing in the 95D.

Well put, these guys dont go through the weekly honeymoon phases that so many club level guys do.
