Yonex Vcore Tour 97 (310) or MG Radical MP or Youtek IG Radical MP

Hi all,

I have recently been demoing these racquets, but want to know other peoples opinions on them.

Also, I have just from back from a two year break and before that, I was using the Youtek IG Radical MP. My thoughts after playing with it and looking back on it this year reminded me that it was a great all around racquet but it never did anything good for me.

How does the MG Radical MP compare to the Youtek IG Radical MP.

And should I got with the Yonex or one of the Radicals?

I am currently demoing the MG Radical Mp and the Yonex

I haven't played with the MG radical or the yonex but I used to play with the IG radical MP. I found it better with a leather grip and a bit of added weight in the hoop. If I recall correctly I had an IG radical pro with leather grip that was heavier and I matched the MP to that. Played well for me.

Pretty different frames, the Radicals and the Tour 97 Lite. Pretty comparable swingweights, all three, but the Yonex has additional mass in the handle that changes how it swings and feels. I've never hit the MG Rad but the IG version was one of my least favorite hits. I'd take the Tour 97 over it any day. But I prefer a crisp feel, and the other big difference is the Tour's 68 stiffness. Both Rads are pretty flexy in comparison. I would simply go with whatever one you most like to play with. The Tour 97 should be discounted sometime in the next few months as the Tour F replacement line is supposed to arrive sometime in the Spring.

Also, I've been suffering from shoulder pain from almost every racquet when serving. Tour 97 was no exception.

After some more research, how would the Youtek IG prestige s compare to the MG radical Mp? As I liked the IG Radical Mp but wanted more control.

Get the Microgel Radical MP in that case. It offers more control than the IG version and is very arm friendly too.

After some consideration, I have decided to rule out the Yonex racquet.

It's now a toss up between the IG Radical and the MG Radical.

Also, if I have shoulder issues. Should I go with a leather replacement grip and an overgrip? Only reason is that lighter racquets don't make my shoulder feel any better and after playing with the IG Radical, I mostly played dinky shots as I would get pushed back with pace and could not hit any winners.

I would agree with SpintoWin but I liked the IG better because it had some extra pop that let me get it deeper in the court I also thought it felt plusher but idk that's just me.

Played the MGRadMids and OS's this past week.
Both have flex in the 58's, meaning little power, good control, easy on the joints and tissues.
Little power bothers me when I'm playing against my peers.
To me, very little difference in producing power in racket's that flex from 57 up to 64, then it's a sudden jump upwards in power when you start to talk in the 68-71 range.
You can get easy power lowering tensions, as poly's can go as low as 35, while multi's and SynGuts seem to still need at least 50 for good control. Lower tensions eases arm impacts.

I did feel like there's extra weight in throat area with Tour G 97 but not really with regular Tour 97. But I demoed 330g versions.
Would it feel different with 310g version or my sense are all wrong.

Just wondering - did you try the G version of the Yonex? Lower stiffness rating which might help, albeit reviewers say it is a bit anemic. I'd like to test it but it's not available to demo at TW Europe (which is frustrating).
