Yonex VCore Tour G VS Volkl Powerbridge 10 Mid?

Hello all,

my racquet of choice is normally the Volkl Powerbridge 10 Mid and sometimes the Head Youtek IG Prestige MP, however, I was wondering how these compare to the Yonex Vcore Tour G 97 (both 330g and 310g) and what are your opinions on these racquets?

I've read much prestige on them over reviews from all over the place, but I just want some more opinions before I completely lean on purchasing one. Right now I am leaning more toward the 330g since the Powerbridge is already 12.1 ounces and am already fully adjusted to it.

I've played with all three... Definitely the Vcore Tour G 330 is not maneuverable, like the IGPMP or the PB10. That being said, it has power to hit the clean winner from the baseline with much less effort. The control is there, too. It's just tough to get it around for my flat or topspin OHBH.

The Yonex Tour G 330 hits bigger and gets far more penetration.
But defense is not the Tour G's strongest attribute. It's much more adept when used with an aggressive mindset.

The PB10 on the other hand was better for scrambling and defending from out of position. But I didn't like it for offensive play.
I struggled to dictate play and put the ball away with the PB10.

With the Tour G, I find it much easier to hurt an opponent and hit winners.
But you must keep an offensive mindset with the Tour G. If you let the opponent make the first strike, the Tour G can be tough to defend with.

So if you like to play a more measured type of game, then maybe the PB10 would be a better choice.
But if you like to go for glory, the Tour G 330 is bliss.

Excellent post, VL. I can actually play really offensive with the PB10 (4.0 solid player here) and have no trouble with defense much since I can get around the court fairly well. I've been following your one month review thread of the vcore tour. I'm almost sold on it except I'm curious about the 310 nodded vs a stock 330 (both with leather grips).

Cheers Hen. :)
Yeah soz man, can't help you there. Never tried the 310 as I don't like playing around with lead.
I go for the closest to my preferred specs in stock form.

Try the X10 Mid Has everything the Pb10 is lacking. Not so buttery but soft enough with insane power. Most powerful Mid i've ever used.In my bag lately X10,PB10,Vcore89,and PK redondo Mid.So nice to dabble with these awesome sticks
