You can only have highlights.....

You can only watch highlights of your fav player from one slam (but all years they played) but aren't allowed to ever watch any of the others. Which slam for what player?

Rafa's had so many epic matches at each slam I honestly dunno which one I could pick.

Probably the AO 2009 final.
I loved the highlights of RG 2007 as well for some reason.

If I have to explain the premise of the thread again someone's getting cut lol. Example: If my answer is the FO.... I can watch all Nadal's FO highlights, just not highights from other slams. Im not saying just choose 1 year, just which 3 slams worth of highlights would you sacrifice?

That is like the easiest decision in the world: regardless of my favourite during the respective period it will always be at Wimbledon (but it helps that all of them have dominated the tournament).

Meh, I've seen them all from the early 70s up until about 10 years ago when they slowed it down a second time and it became too boring.

Wouldn't you want to see something you haven't already? That's why I picked Laver on wood.

I sure wood, but it is a slightly different question to answer than the one in the OP. Even in the slowed down pathetic state of the grass, there is something magical about the players that can play on it (even if they have to abolish most of the artistry linked to the S&V nowadays).

I have played on wood several times: the bounce is insanely low (well, there is almost no bounce to speak of) and the speed .... . Can't imagine what it is to play in such conditions with a wooden frame weighting a ton and with a tiny sweetspot.

Michael, just the highlights, or access to all the matches played by that player at that one "slam" - and nothing else?

Either way, I'm still thinking it over. I've enjoyed tennis over several decades, and have a pretty long list of favorite players - and The Big 3 figure very prominently in this.

Unsurprisingly, this would probably come down to Novak at AO, Rafa at RG, and Fed at Wimbledon. I'm not sure who I'd pick for the US Open.

While the highest single level of play must be Rafa at RG, and if you go by both excellence and some great matches, it may be Djokovic at the AO (including the 2012 final and the matches with Stan among others), I may still go with Fed at Wimbledon - the excellence and dominance, but also balanced with the Fedal trilogy and his clashes with Novak.

Quadrilogy. :)

Definitely Australia since it covers not only my favorite but other players as well: a few classics with Agassi against Sampras, Rafter and Safin, Safin/Federer 2005, Nadal in 2009, and of course Djokovic in epics in 2012, 2013 and then some of his highest levels in other years.

It's somewhat surprising but I'd probably pick the USO for Federer. While it's become his weaker slam after 2010, he's had so many great highlight reel moments in his "peak" years which I still watch from time to time. Wimbledon is a close 2nd and then AO, but let's face it, he's had great runs at everyone of them, you can't go wrong.

For Wawrinka, definitely AO.

Some of you still aren't getting it but I'll like the posts of the ones that do and hopefully the rest catch on lol.
Think of your favorite player..... for example mine is Rafa. So what im asking myself is JUST FOR RAFA what slam would I want his catalogue/free reign to watch matches highlights from if I have to pick one. You still get everyone else besides your fav players highlights at all 4 slams. Make sense? :) For Rafa I feel this is especially tough bc he has had so many badass matches at the AO, and I would lose the 09 highlights picking something else. The FO speaks for itself, it's a buffet. But if I pick the FO I lose Wimby 07/08/18/19. If I don't pick the USO I lose the 2013/17 highlights and the Medvedev match :(

You can if you pick the French. :giggle:

Very difficult as a Nolefam. Love all three AO, Wimbledon and USO. AO is his masterclass but I prefer USO. Those battles vs Federer have been amazing.

Federer AO 04. He pretty much just made a mockery of the field. So many highlights...each match was a highlight reel.
