Young upset with PMac

Read in Inside Tennis that Donald Young tweeted PMac complaining about his decision to field a lower ranked guy (Harrison) in the DC instead of him. He made it clear that he respected Harrison very much, but did not like this last decision by Mac as a DC captain.

I saw that tweet, but can't find it on his twitter page anymore. Here is something I did find:
Funny how Jason Goodall and Robbie Koenig can commentate on me, when I look then up their career high rankings are in the 260's lol cmon...

Boy, this fellow is immature and insecure!

Hope this makes Donald Young get off his butt train 10x harder, fire his parents and get a real coach.

The computer actually DOES lie because rankings go back to performances a year ago and may not accurately reflect who's looked better in just the past few months.

Young's ranking, though higher, has been on slow decline since 2007 while Harrison's has been increasing.

Maybe Harrison is a harder worker and PMac thinks he has more potential than Young

Having watched both guys play at the USO, Harrison deserved it much more. It's not even debatable. I hope to see him break through.

Years ago, I remember watching the Arthur Ashe Day action before the US Open. There was that target-hitting contest---Agassi and Graf hit alot of em. Young? He only hit one.

Hasn't Harrison only won like 2 ATP level matches in his career?

Seems like a pretty unfair decision to me. Spadea in his book had a similar beef with P-Mac. Spadea at the time was the number 2 ranked US player ranked like 19, and P-Mac chose Fish to play a tie on clay over Spadea, despite Fish being far lower ranked.

Spadea came as a practice partner and proceeded to beat Fish in every practice match but still wasn't chosen to play

There is virtually zero chance of the 4th guy who isnt even top 100 or noteable in doubles playing anything without a true doubles specialist/tandem on the team, including even the doubles. So it doesnt really matter who the 4th guy is as far as present ability. Harrison was probably picked a he might have a future depending on how he develops, while Young clearly does not. Best to get someone who might be part of the U.S Davis Cup future some exposure.

Unfair because Donald Young loses matches on command? Donald Young seeing his potential should be aware that younger guys have a much better chance of pulling off victories than he does, regardless of age. Yeah it's a slap in the face, but so is realizing your getting older and you still haven't made it to your potential yet. Hope you're listening Donald.

Did it ever occur to Mr. Young that perhaps, PERHAPS, his refusal to leave the nest and train at a USTA facility might have had something to do with Mr. McEnroe's decision to go with Ryan Harrison instead of him? Just a thought. ;)

Are you saying Donald Young is already Old?

I think he's stated he likes singles players who can play doubles. He probably planned on playing Fish in dubs. When Johnny Mac put Spadea in for dubs against Spain, he was horrible.

That little pygmy runt should keep his mouth shut!

harrison proved at the us open that he is a fighter, but i dont think pmac has seen that from DY. when he falls behind in matches he seems to collapse. plus harrison beat a top 20 player at a gs event (ljubicic)
