Your Best Shot??

Hey guys just wanted to know what other peoples best shot is??

My best shot is my flat backhand. I am right handed and can just ripp my backhand for a winner basically in any position on the court. I have surprised many with my backhand as i am a junior and sometimes they just stop and stare. Half the time i don't even know how i did the shot i just hit. It works best cross court but i can hit it up the line for a winner every know and then.

So whats your best shot??

Well, given I've stood at the other end of the court to ^^^ that backhand, I have to agree and say that FF's 2HBH is a damn good shot.

Me? Hmm. Right now it's probably my serve. This will possibly the first time in my life that i've not answered "my forehand", but only because I've been placing less and less emphasis on the FH in terms of my one-big-shot, and playing more and more percentage tennis over the last few years. Half the time thesedays the big FH is just the finisher, set up by a good point or serve.

So yeah, for me, right now, it's my serve. It's working well, placement is going good, and I have 3 genuinely different serves working well, a kicker, a flat hard ball, and a slider which is pretty brutal wide to either side. For the last while, when I approach the line to serve, I expect to confidently hold, which is a nice feeling.

Me my best shot would be ripping the ball high with my forehand cross court, do have killer shot but i think my ripping western forehand is the best of all.

forehand forever...possibly on the run im really good on the run so i love embarassing people when they hit a good approach and rip it back by them

just thought i'd now post what shot i can't really get right. I'd have to say its the drop volley it always goes too deep, too short or if i get it the right length it bounces too high. Soft hands is the KEY!

my forehand, the most unpredictable shots ever towards the opponent (sometimes hitting the ppl if they move), if i could smash that'll be worse but i can't, im a pure baseliner sometimes i would volley practice though to improve my weak point THE NET...

I'd say my running backhand cross court. I love getting pulled out wide on the backhand side.

As for worst shots go... I have plenty. But I'd probably go with FF here and say my drop volley. I either drop it in the net or it goes deep and I get creamed.

most my shots are good, but none are really great. my best shot right now is probably my serve (1st or 2nd) followed by my forehand.

My best shot is when I unglue myself from the baseline, stagger wide-eyed and trembling toward the net, and flail helplessly as the ball approaches--then somehow the ball ends up in my opponent's court rather than nailing me in the shin like last time.

It's either:

1. Becker-style diving volley (on grass, naturally) or
2. Becker-style 3 second posh restaurant broom cupboard pop-shot.

Does anyone have pics of either styles?

The phrase "Wallow in despair" came to mind as I imagined this.

I wouldn't say its exactly my best shot overall, but the shot I do best in comparison to its difficulty is the hot dog.

I get it in about 7/10 and i can hit it either with pace or hit a lob off it aswell.

Sorta my party piece at my club.

Perfecting it may have cost me a few too many sperm cells though..:p

My backhand...topspin, slice, flat, dropshot, crosscourt, down-the-line, etc. ....my backhand can do it all....too bad I have a 3.0 forehand, 3.5 volley, and 2.5 serve or I'd be a contender!!!

My Forehand and my serve. i like to think it is my serve but my forehand is perhaps. I hit my forehand like thomas muster.

forehand, win a lot of points on the serve though too. If i could just get everyone to keep it away from my backhand i would be set

It's typically been my flat serve. I've been having problems with my kick serve though (I know I'm using too much wrist in the toss, just have to fix it now) so I've been backing off the big bombing flat serves to try and keep my double faulting to a minimum.

Other than that I think it's more footspeed than shotmaking that helps me. At 3.5 the ability to make your opponent hit one more shot wins a lot of points. It's a great feeling to rip a forehand winner off a serve or close in and put away a nice backhand volley, but getting the ball back is what I focus on.

Definitely my forehand on the run. It's my favorite and the one I'm most comfy with. Not to mention I'm fast so most of the time @ 2.5 level my opponent would pretty much give up, thinking I wouldn't get the ball back. LOVE that.

Worst - backhand, from anywhere. lol
