Your expectations from Federer from 2021+?

it's gonna be nice just to see him in the draw of a GS again and playing

after that, who knows? he could put together a 2017 type run with a slam win or two, or he could fizzle out and start losing 3rd and 4th rounds to randoms, you just never know

Unspoken in all this is that Fed's body simply hasn't held up in slams since he turned 36. Let's look at slams that he could have won where he came up with an injury just before the slams or during it:

2017 USO (already injured in Canada)
2018 Wimbledon
2019 USO
2020 AO (though Novak would have been heavily favored in the final)

He just can't hack BO5 in many cases anymore, he sustains an injury and loses to people like Anderson, Dimi, etc.

AO
Dubai
Halle
WMB
Basel

I just don't see the point for Fed travelling to US without fans. His USO chances are low as it is.

I hope to be at Wimbledon and Basel thinking he can do well at both. At Wimbledon depending on draw it's anywhere from QF-W. But my gut says he loses in the SF due to draw getting Novak. I also think 1 of Raonic, Med, Tsit, Shap pushes him along way.

Solid performances with a reduced schedule.

Especially with the virus making the rounds, he will limit his presence to the Majors and the Masters (possibly skipping all clay Masters). No Asian tour IMO. If he qualifies, he will play the WTF, if not, I expect him to shut down his season early.

8-)
