Your favorite discontinued frame?

Recently unearthed stash of C7 Pros

C7 Pros aren't that hard to find. I just bought four of them, two brand new! :)

Pro Kennex Graphite 90 series. There are various ones:
Copper Ace 90
Silver Ace 90
Golden Ace 90
Black Ace 90
Comp 90
Composite 90
And my favorite: Graphite Lazer 90, have yet to find another one called this. But it is my ABSOLUTE favorite :D
Old School frames :-)

My votes go to Head Classic Mid, prestige classic and volkl tour 10 v-engine mid. And yes, I believe the v-engine is discontinued.

Wilson Steffi Graff lite 7.0 95 in the blue and white. so flexible, so lite, so much control and racquet head speed, it is perfect.
if you want something like that, you can check out the new ncode nfury

Geez, I haven't had a chance to play with many old frames; but my friend's PT280s were nice. I also like the feel of wooden racquets; those are great fun.

Seems like the Usual Suspects but seems the Prince Graduate 90 and Wilson Ultra 2 are MIA, great racquets.

Ditto. Used the Ultra 2 in High School and the graduate in college.

And FWIW, I've never got the love affair with the Pro Staff. The Ultra 2 and PS came out about the same time and I tried both and I loved the Ultra 2 and found the Pro Staff to be kind of soft. I've also wondered if this racket would be as revered if Sampras didn't use it? I also liked the 6.1 Pro Staff.

I played with the Kramer Pro Staff until I was 16 and they weren't making it anymore. I decided to switch to a mid-size graphite, and wanted to stay with Wilson. Like you, I demoed both the Ultra 2 and the Pro Staff. I really really wanted to like the Pro Staff, because my two favorite players, Connors and Evert, were using it, but in the end I felt the Ultra 2 was just a more stable frame. I loved the sweet spot of the racquet.

Like I posted on May 10, I'm not sure why the Ultra 2 never caught on. It's a sweet stick.

FWIW, last summer I played with a Pro Staff one day for the hell of it. I liked it better than I remembered liking it previously, and have been considering getting one, since Ultra 2s are so hard to find and $$$$ when you do. Currently play the n6.1, the closest to the U2 I could find.

Head Pro Tour 630
Head Prestige Pro
Rossignol F250
Head Radical Tour Twin Tube 630
Kneissl White Star Mid
Kneissl White Star Areo 20
Kneissl White Star Areo 30
Fischer Vacuum Twin Tec Pro
Head Graphite Edge

1) The Hyper Pro Staff 6.1, mainly because it's what I'm playing with right now and feeling the love with...
2) ProKennex Type C 93 (hard for me to play with, but kept a few anyway)
2) Volkl C7 Pro (managed to stock up on these beauties)
3) Volkl Tour 10 MP (these, too!)

Dunlop MW 200g

I'm still kicking myself in the arse for selling the 3 I used to have. I tried the newer ones, but didn't like them nearly as much. Just a great control stick with a really sweet feel, and definitely the best serving stick I've played.

Head Pro Tour 280. (By a hair better than the Head Prestige Classic 600 - Austrian model.) When I was younger and had more of an all-court game, the positions would have been reversed. I have never had the opportunity to test the similar Head Pro Tour 630.

Yonex RD-7. A friend has one and I've hit with it here and there and it never dissapoints. It's just solid and simple with no surprises. Very good spin considering the strings(some 2 tone gold colored HEAD strings) are very tight. And this racquet has perfect weight and balance for me. I haven't really served with it though.

The only way I can tell that this is a classic frame is that the sweetspot extends down, instead of up.

TW, please make them bring it back!

interesting point about the sweetspot, which i find to be true as well. What about the Iprestige Mid? It's not exactly a classic frame, but its sweetspot is down there too.

iPrestige mid sweetspot is far higher than most traditional headlight racquets which, according to Wilson, is in the lower third of the racquethead. Always thought that CAP grommet system's weight created that.
