Your favorite player...and why?

saram

Legend
Probably discussed to death...but here goes nothing...

I like Marat. Not for his pure striking of the ball, not for his consistent serve, and not for beating Pete and Roger in slams...but for his charisma, his spark, his style. If he is on the tube, I fear getting a beer, chips, or taking a whiz as I am affraid I'll miss the most amazing part of the match--Marat smashing a stick on the court. His tyrants, emtions, war-cries, and utter mental implosions just keep me rivited to the guy.

And on the women's side, there's Navratilova. She went through so much turmoil in her life and career. So much criticism, so much controversy, leaving her country, etc. She handled everything with dignity and grace. As well, she won titles in singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. She even won at ATP event near the age of 50. Just amazing. She will always be my favorite tennis player of all time.

So, those are mine...whom are yours???;)

I would have to go with Federer. Having seen him play a couple of times he makes tennis look easy. He is graceful, and yet can move with the best of them. He is also a well spoken, classy guy.

For the women, I will have to say Justine Henin. When she is on she is like the women's Federer. She is graceful and makes tennis look easy as well. She seems to be finding her game again since her divorce. Glad to see that.

Younes El Aynaoui.

and i utterly HATE Henin. HATE her. with fiery passion, too.

safin.... most handsome guy in atp....
nadal..... cute....
federer.... so so...
sharapova....arrogant....
henin... love her style of playing...

i like to watch fed play when he is on and he crushes his opponents, but when he is playing nadal i always root for nadal so nadal is my favourite player. One of the reasons could be that clay is my favourite surface. i like to see long rallies on clay because you have to fight for every point.

i absolutely love clay. RG is my favorite tournament of them all...;)

I'd say Safin is my Favorite player because his shots are soo smooth and nice too look at. also i like that jumping backhand he does. oh yeah who started the jumping backhand was it safin or someone else?

I think Rios hit that shot a lot as well..not sure though...

Henman. Beautiful volleyer and has no problem at the baseline either.

It will suck to see him leave the game...wish he could have had a healthy back/career to see just how much he could have accomplished as the last true S&V player in today's game...

Nadal because I love his grinding, never say die attitude. He has just incredible topspin as well. Such excitement to watch his matches on clay.

men's: Nadal: he is a real fighter
Federer: really consistent and solid
Roddick: b/c nobody likes him (at least he has one fan)

women's: Sharapova: powerful groundstroke, deathly serve, the greatest fighter
I've ever seen, mental toughness, great personality, stunning fashion
sense and last but not least, Masha is really grounded.
Make a long story short: MARIA IS THE GREATEST GIRL ON EARTH ;)

Lleyton Hewitt, he inspired me to pick up tennis and has an awesome game to watch and attempt to emulate. He really does everything well and has amazing passion for the game. Also I met him this year in Cincy and he was a really nice guy.

My favourite player is Federer simply because he makes the game look so beautiful. I've never seen anyone play and hit such amazing shots and at the same time it looks so easy.

I love watching Marat Safin also because of his personality. I loved to see him smash his rackets and show his passion and intensity. And on top of that he's pretty funny anyway. Especially that time at the OZ Open when he argued with the umpire about a line call and talked trash about one of the tournament staff forcing him to play on the court when it was slippery and wet.
