my personal favourite Oasis song is Slide Away, or perhaps Underneath the Sky

i love oasis...but bring it on down? c'mon!

live forever!!!

also...stop crying your heart out/wonderwall/don't look back in anger...

First two Oasis albums were great all the way through. Favorite right now is Supersonic by Oasis and Bullet in the Head by Rage Against the Machine.

Last few oasis albums have had a lot of great songs...with a lot of crap filler...still my favorite band of all time though...

Anyone else gonna try to catch them during their Canada tour? Worth the long ass drive from NYC to Toronto for me!

At the moment my favourite song is “I borrowed” by a Ukranian singer Taisia Povaliy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLz7XlxhHbE

I first heard it on a train three years ago and tried to search for it online and in stores, but could not find it. Yesterday I did a youtube search and this guy vadnau posted a good video of it, as it turns out.

I find the song very entertaining and “positive energy” while at the same time dealing with bad loan issues that are much talked about throughout the world today. For the benefit of those who haven’t yet had an opportunity to become fluent in Russian, here’s the synopsis of the story of the song.

She borrowed her female friend’s boyfriend for a week. Being an attractive and not too old woman and a heart-breaker type, her intent was to break his heart and dump him back to female friend after seven days. However, as the week went on, the opposite happened – she fell for the guy. As her fragile mind got clouded by love, she had forgotten that the boyfriend was just a one-week loaner. And basically, there is no further information on how the story ends, but one can’t help but get the impression that she intends to default or has already defaulted, so presumably some sort of property dispute is expected to ensue between herself and the female friend lender, over collateral, going forward.

Bring it on Down is immense, I can see why people would like the ballads better and Live Forever is arguably best song of the 90s so can't fault you for that. The new album will be amazing, Shock of the Lightning is going to be released soon and from what I've heard it'll be great, Definitely Maybe great :)

Breaker: I'm not ashamed to admit that I was a "newwaver" during the 80's and I still listen to them actually.

Best song of the 90's? that's a whole new topic altogether... I would pick Alcoholiday by the Teenage Fanclub or Waterfall by The Stone Roses ... or Black Star by Radiohead.

Haha don't be ashamed, it's something to be proud of - great period for music..and bad period, but mostly good :). For Stone Roses Fool's Gold always does it for me and is a masterpiece, Waterfall is great too though along with pretty much anything made by them.

For Radiohead that's a good choice though Paranoid Android and Karma Police will obviously be remembered the most for them in the 90s period (and of course..sadly..Creep). In my opinion their most interesting stuff came on Hail to the Thief and Kid A but that's for another time.
