I'm still too embarrassed to talk about mine, but I would love to hear some of your guys' stories. Possibly so I can reassure myself :O.

I'll share whenever I'm near a computer (that isn't a phone)..

Please share!

The more I learn about the dis-value of over-hitting, the more fondly I look back on matches where I exhibited physical restraint, facilitating mental insertion; and of how many more times I held back when a more aggressive reply was arguably warranted.

Easy one. I was having a tough few weeks before a smaller sectional tourny and I just hadnt been right mentally since the problems started. Went into the tourny seeded and into the match wanting to be anywhere but on that court, My mind was not on tennis at all and it showed. 6-7 in the first and I pretty much just said oh well time to pack it in. Got one game in the 2nd. ONE! All the junk that had been going on came out after the match. I blew up when my girlfriend asked me what happened, yellin about stuff that had nothing to do with tennis. It was the most embarrassing loss and pretty much moment of my life.

Almost 40 years ago (man am I old) during a high school match, for some reason the visiting team had brought their cheerleaders. The first and last time I ever saw cheerleaders from any school at a match. I was playing 1 doubles, and we were up a set and 2-0 in the second set. I was receiving a serve, and had set up with a wide stance, when the ball bounced in a way I didn't think possible, and it hit me flush in the groin. I collapsed like a ton of bricks. The more polite cheerleaders were giggling, others were laughing their butts off. My partner & I didn't win another game that day.
