Your opinion on tension on hybrid setup K90

Everyone says Poly is hard on your arm and suggest a lower lbs.

I am thinking of getting a K90 and stringing it with Luxilon Big Banger Rough and Babalot VS gut.

I thought about stringing it M = Gut at 57 lbs and Cross = Poly at 57lbs.

Would this tension be tight enough to control?

If Poly loses tension quickly, would I be better off with tension of 60x60 on mains and cross since I expect the tension to drop off quickly on the poly and I would then be at 57 lbs after tension loss.

My N90 is strung at 64 with all Gut.

Personally, I have experience with SPPP 1.23 and it has great durability/tension maintanence/playing life. People say the same thing about the other gauges of SPPP too.

Other polys that have great life according to information available here: Topspin Cyberflasher, Kirschbaum P2, Babolat Pro Hurricane and more recently, WeissCannon Silverstring.

You can do a search too, don't just take my word for it; there's a wealth of information available.

my doubles partner strung his k-90 with vs gut/ alu pwr combo at 51/55 lbs and tonic gut/isospeed pro combo at 52/57lbs... and now he is trying iso/ tonic combo....

I have been stringing mine with Lux Big Banger Alu (mains), Gosen (crosses). I've tried 57 lbs, and 62 lbs. I like the 62 lbs better, and it plays great. I may even go up to 65. I will say, the Lux does go dead much quicker than the kevlar.

Note: I use to string my PS85 with ashaway kevlar crossfire II at 70 lbs. When I switched to the k90 I used the same string and strung it at 57. I eventually went up to 65. The reason I didn't start this high was because of the recommendd tension range of the racquet.

I am using Babolat VS Gut on the mains and Luxilon Alu Power Rough on the crosses. Mains are strung at 57lbs and crosses are 55lbs.

I don't like high tensions. This setup gives me great control, power, feel and doesn't hurt the arm.

I also used this on the Ncode Tour 90 and liked it as well.

If you string with poly and do not play for 2 days (example) how much tension would be lost? If I start at 57 and 2 days later would the tension drop to 50?

I guess I am wondering whether it makes sense to increase the starting tension higher by a 2 or 3 knowing that the drop will put the tension at where I really wanted it.

Your thoughts

^^^ Problem with that is if you play with the racquet at the higher tension you may get used to it, and then not like when it drops those few punds in tension. Then again, you may enjoy the higher tension once you get used to it.

NO, you don't have to string them at different tensions. I personally don't bother. It get's to be be too much of a pain>>> trying to decide the right combination for each string. Too many variables.
