Youtek Prestige MP vs. Speed MP 18x20

I demoed a Speed MP 18x20 last night and loved it. I was surprised to find that it was very easy to swing and play with - had good power and outstanding control. I liked everyting about it, especially the feel, comfort, and balance. This demo totally changed my views on the type of racquet that is best for me. Up until now I've only been playing with stiff, powerful 16x18 tweeners, because I "thought" that is what i wanted and needed - big mistake.

My question is, what is the difference between the Youtek Prestige MP and the Speed MP 18x20? The specs are almost identical, except the prestige has a 98 head size and the prestige has a 100, and the stiffness on the Prestige is slightly less. I'm assuming the Prestige MP might be more demanding and less forgiving then the Speed MP. Don't know?

If you've played with both, please let me know how they compare. I'd love to hear any comments, opinions, suggestions on either of these. Thanks

Hi BC1,

I've played with both. I really liked the Speed MP (18x20). My problem was the grip shape. I really liked the way it hit, but the rounded grip shape was different than other Head racquets I have used. My backhand grip seems to be off with the rounder grip shape. Besides that, I loved the manuevarability of the Speed the most. I got mad spin with it and my volleys and returns were really feeling better with the larger head size and string pattern. The 18x20 in a 100 head size felt much more open than I was expecting.

I did try the Prestige MP also, but decided to go with the Prestige Pro for the open string pattern. I have used all the Prestige incarnations in the past and this one felt as comfortable and soft as I remember them being. The Flexpoint version felt stiff to me, but this one has gone back to its roots. The Prestige felt more powerful to me, but not by much.

Good luck in your search.
