You've been asking for it, and finally the wait is over! Djokovic vs Alcaraz AO 2025 Quarter Final FULL MATCH

Better is pushing it.

And it’s not bitterness is unless you think Alcaraz is an ATG on HC
Oh yes it certainly is. You can't give any credit to Oldovic for outplaying a 4-slam winner in his youth, out of fear it would overshadow what Federer did few years back. Your whole camp has been on pins and needles praying Djoko doesn't do any more damage.

It never overshadowed what Fed did years back anyway.

Djokovic played a great match for his age. There aren't too many better performances from players aged 37-38. It is also true that Alcaraz seriously underperformed. A highly disappointing match from him.

Though I suppose he was never all that good at the AO to begin with. Perhaps he's either yet to peak at this Slam, or it'll be a Delpo situation where the AO is his one blind spot.

Yes proving life is not too short. Just full of negativity.

I think life is too full of opportunities to re-watch a match just weeks after I saw it. I chose to do other things.

Of course, people have different aspirations.

I think it should be allowed to have an opinion that doesn't match yours without being labelled "full of negativity".

I just think MY life is too short to re-watch tennis matches with known outcome a few weeks after it happened in real time.

You're free to watch whatever you want - and take a higher ground with your attribution game, if that peels your banana.
Surely you can weasel out of an initially snarky remark better than this lol. Only someone very naive would believe any of you lot would have said life is too short for this if Carlos was the winner, or that you would have refrained from saying it if the thread was posted years instead of weeks after the match.

Really disappointing from Alcaraz. His hard court game really is overrated at this point with losses to Botic, Djokovic and Zverev at the slams. Sinner is the new Djokovic clone and plays the style thats best for modern day hardcourts. No variety or all court game is needed.

The AO match was great, because it exposed the weaknesses of...

Honestly if Alcaraz had won a match of similar scoreline and quality as this one I would also be somewhat dismissive of it. It was an alright match, nothing particularly special about it. Decent winner, not-so-good loser.

His HC game is actually quite underrated here. It needs to be rated even lower.

Raz is the sucks on quick HC due to poor fundamentals. His backswing is too erratic on this surface and his lack of precision and “easy depth” kills him. His serve gets eaten for lunch, and at night, the ONE bailout weapon he has in the kick serve is ineffective.

He has no path to victory other than yolo defensive points and hoping raw power will overwhelm an opponent - which, against Djokovic, even 38 year old, is laughable.

What you see is a man armed with a club trying to fight a man armed with a scalpel. Ferrero wants it this way.

Alcaraz is still a unfinished product. Still this loss hurt as same as olympic gold match. 38 years against 21 year old is great mismatch in terms of age gap and when that 21 years old is 4 slam winner than almost unexcusable.
Novak body failed him for semis but he produced memorable performance.
If star aligns for novak he can give great performance . Slam win is still a big ask but who knows

Djokovic cannot go through a gauntlet like Alcaraz, Zverev and Sinner. He will need to get his ranking back into the top four, so he has his own quarter. He will also need to have the draw open up for him.

At this stage, he is no longer the favorite for any slam, but he will remain a solid contender behind the two obvious favs.
