YTEX poly strings

I have been trying the quadro twist and square x poly strings from YTEX. I am very impressed by the performance of these strings, it is hard to find a more comfortable playing poly string.

But the performance is just as good as the comfort, great spin, control and power. I have tried a lot of poly strings and the YTEX is unique in that it plays so well with comfort and so far the durability seems very good.

I have used the quadro twist and square x and both play very well. I like both but prefer the square x because it is lower powered, control is my main priority when choosing a string.

Both have good control but the square x is a little stiffer and lower powered. The quadro twist has a softer feel with more power but still good control. If anyone is looking for a new poly to try I would highly recommend giving these strings a shot, I think this string is going to be popular in the future.

I played Quadro Twist way to long ago to have a coherent memory -- I do remember I liked it. But I have had Square-X in my rotation for the past two months (got a reel on pure impulse) and agree it is a really, really good string.

I had been playing RPM Team in one of my Organix 8 Super G's (which I still think is a very good string) but liked the Square-X much better. Not many compromises with Square-X. It does everything very well, including comfort which is an important factor for me.

I agree this string does everything very well, plus I really like the nice feel it has.

quadro twist

I bought a set and split it in two. I strung hybrid with Gosen sheep 17 in crosses on

Head radical liquidmetal midplus at 52lbs -- felt stiff and not that great.Spin was decent but some nasty vibrations were coming through. My racquet is weighted to 12.5 oz and 9 pts HL

Mitt Rocker Xtreme 97 -- 54lbs. the string felt great here. Good pocketing, great spin (the racket has great spin and feels comfortable with any string). On this racket regular strings move extraordinarily much. A poly helps.

After two hours of hitting, I felt some light tingle in the back of the elbow and a bit of discomfort around the wrist.

The string is easier to use/handle than most polys and spin generation is slightly above average. It's not a miracle string, don't get your hopes too high.

Ytex twisted update

After a second two hour session with the Mitt Rocker Xtreme 97, mains Ytex quadro twisted at 54lbs, crosses, microsheep 17g at 54lbs, I experienced severe nerve pain in my hand, wrist, up the forearm, and a bit in the elbow. The pain was worst in the hand. The next day I had trouble picking up things or typing. It took three days for the pain to go away. I cut out the strings and may try at much lower tension (46 lbs?). The assessment is that this string, even in hybrid and at 54 lbs is painful to use. It played well but it's not worth the injury.

Thanks for the review! Can’t wait to try the Square X!

I have this same setup (QT16L mains / OGSM 17 crosses) on a 16x20 Wilson estimated at 58-60RA at 46 lbs mains and 46 lbs crosses. Comfortable, Spinny and Low Power for me. If you try it let me know your updated assessment.
