ZERO french player (of 50) in 3rd Round of ATP/WTA French Open

It's definitely the first time it happens in the history of the FO. But I read it's first time in the Open Era, too.

They were 21 in the qualifying draws and 29 in the main draws (total of 50 chances).

It's very embarrassing for the tournament if you ask me. Nations like Italy, Spain and Germany have a much smaller quota but still have multiple players in 3rd round. I feel bad for them. :cautious::unsure:

The rest of the world rejoices at this news. Now let’s hope they lose all their matches at the Euros too

Contractual obligations with Spain which owns the tournament now. They kept the brand name for marketing continuity.
