If Zed ever wants to win Slams, he better cut back on the wine.

Ok, but most of the top 50 is probably jealous of the attention Charly Boy is getting. They don't all mention this in every press conference.
Remember, back in January Zverev thought he was a part of the new Big 3. :censored: The rise of Alcaraz contrasts brutally with Zverev's downfall this season, so you'd imagine the attention on Carlos rubs salt into a big wound.

A new challenger appears...the most dangerous in two decades. Zverev cries foul, Tsitsipas tries to make comparisons to himself, Auger-Aliassime fights valiantly, and Rune ruthlessly pushes through his matches.

Speaks volumes, no?

Z was once the next big thing. And now he's Bart Gunn 1999.

He be mad. lol
Bart Gunn was set up by an irate Vince McMahon/Jim Ross for daring to badly knockout Dr. Death Steve Williams, the Godfather and Bradshaw in successive shoot "Brawl for All" fights. The fight with Butterbean was more of a short boxing fight than Brawl for All, which Butterbean was one of the best in the world at. If they wanted Dr. Death to win, why not just make it a work from the start?

I think they all just thought Steve Williams can fight and the rest of the roster are ''sports entertainers.'' Maybe they had no idea Bart Gunn could throw a punch. It does feel like something out of Vince's playbook but I don't really know. All those matches had taken it out of Williams anyway so he was no longer the Dr. Death he was in his prime.

Butterbean was a massacre. A career killer in the USA. Lucky enough, Bart made a bit of a name for himself in Japan.

Bruh!! What is Zed complaining about?? Is t he getting more time to recover?

Alcaraz at 19 (at 18+ actually) is already a more complete, better player than Zverev, and much more exciting to watch. His highlight videos have people flocking to them. Meanwhile, Chainz should be thankful he’s 6’5–6’6; if he weren’t, he wouldn’t be doing anything on tour.

Yes Z, nobody wants to see your ugly double faults.

Agreed—literally the entire world wants to see Alcaraz vs. Djokodal or in general. Nobody wants to see Chainz.

Zverev salty af that he's being replaced by Alcaraz as the next big star

Big time jealous though Chainz knows Alcaraz is a real talent and heir to the Big Three. He should be thankful Carlitos is 5’11 or whatever—if he were actually 6’1 with a serve, then the entire tour wouldn’t be on permanent lockdown for the foreseeable future.

Wouldn't Alcaraz at night in this round give Zverev the advantage since he has more time (mere hours, but still) to rest and recover for the QF?

Also, televised tennis is a product that's being sold. That's why you make millions of dollars (well, one of the reasons). Get over the scheduling. There will always be disparities and they'll usually favor the stars - established and rising. They're never going to start everyone's match for a particular round at the same time, because it would ruin the product.

It was Vince Russo, the main WWF script writer of the time. He and Bradshaw didn't like each other, and Bradshaw would brag about how he was the hardest and toughest guy in the locker room. Then Dr. Death Steve Williams came in, who Jim Ross was very close to. Russo came up with the "Brawl for All" shoot idea, and it was okayed despite Jim Cornette's protests, while Jim Ross seemed to think that Dr. Death winning would be a certainty. Bart Gunn was a quiet and nice guy for the most part, but he was getting seriously pissed off with people around him showing disrespect and thinking that he was a soft touch. Bart's KO of Dr. Death was so bad that it led to injury complications that ruined Dr. Death's career, which saw his reputation damaged even worse. Something almost as bad happened to the Godfather, who got an infected leg after being KOed by Bart. In the final, Bart brutally KOed Bradshaw so bad that Bradshaw's eyes were all over the place.

Jim Cornette was furious with Vince Russo for costing the company millions of dollars with what happened to Dr. Death.

No wonder. The format was Butterbean's specialty. Butterbean admitted recently that Bart would have had a 50-50 chance under the 1998 "Brawl for All" rules, but the WrestleMania 15 fight was much more like boxing, and tailor made for him (Butterbean) and that Vince McMahon had brought him in to teach Bart a lesson. Pretty low of Vince really, since he's the boss who had the final say in making the original Brawl for All a shoot.
