Zverev's woeful results as a front-runner has continued tonight like it has for his entire career. Dating back to 2016, he's now lost 18 matches at majors where he was up at least one set at some point in the match. Digging through the archives of Zverev, we have the following:

2016 RG - won the first set against Theim, lost in 4
2017 AO - up 2-1 against Rafa, lost in 5
2017 WI - up 2-1 against Raonic, lost in 5
2017 US - won first set against Coric, lost in 4
2018 AO - up 2-1 against Chung, lost in 5

He has been improving. earlier he lost from 2-1. Now he is able to lose from 2-0 also.
I think the craziest part of this stat when we break it down is that he's lost as a front-runner to players of all calibers lol he's done it against top players like Rafa, Novak, Carlos, Med, and Thiem but he's also done it against players who are ranked significantly lower than him

There was a time when Zverev seemed to have huge trouble with best of 5 sets, when compared to his best of 3 sets record. He's mostly gotten rid of that in recent years.
