Zverev has to break free from the chains that bind him ..... ASAP

G.O.A.T.
Zverev is slowly and steadily growing on this list and that's not a good thing, he has to break free of the chains that bind him ..... he has to do it in this slam otherwise he will rise to the top in this list which is not desirable.

Ultimate journeyman list.

Zverev and Dimitrov both secured their 450th win in this US open

Hopefully one of them breaks free of the chains, I hope it is Zverev to spoil the happiness of posters like you who hate him for no reason.

It continues to be embarrassing that you think crying is unacceptable but smashing an occupied umpire chair is OK

I like Zverev but there are valid reasons to dislike him

Respect Berdych?
Berdych has another record, for playing the best set point ever lost :X3:

full

Alexander Zverev will fade into ambiguity like the rest of the Lost Generation and other 1990s born players, Next Gen was once said to be the future back in 2017/2018 But their window to take over has closed, the new Sincaraz Gen is here. Tennis is ruthless and tennis players get upgraded faster than IPhones (other than the big three)

Hey! Vitas won the 1977 AO (the second one). Give the guy a break. He suffered enough with that infamous "17 times in a row" quotation.

Vitas was awesome. He doesn't deserve to be on this list. Let's replace him with Zverev or however you spell his name at 1AM.

They say that memories cannot be lost but are only locked away in the deep corners of your mind.

Chair is a non living object, how does it matter if he hit the chair or not ?

He was fined 40,000 $ + 30,000 $ according to media, that's a lot of money

The hate for Zverev is cringe, the level of hate shown here by a few is cringe, ABZ cult is cringe.

My bad... Updated the list.

Hey we are "cringe" for hating on a guy who beats up women.... Can you believe that or is smacking down his girlfriend... I mean girlfriends cringe?

Today he would win cygs lol

At the height of tennis I used to think Berdych, Ferrer etc were journeymen but little did I realise the monster standard the Big 3 + Murray used to produce that everyone else outside had no choice but to get a beating day in and day out, and not just in slams, slim pickings in any tournament where they decided to play.

generations that came after are very very lucky, they wouldn't have seen the light of day if they switched places with guys like Berdych, Tsonga, Ferrer etc

Yeah, he's a really swell guy /s

We don't decide if he beat his girlfriend or not, the courts shall decide and they have given their verdict.

Believe it or not, couples these days get into physical fights all the time, not just boys, even girls beat boys, violence happens both ways and if someone is hurt then there is the judiciary to punish... regardless of the gender

Zverev was declared innocent.... so that case is closed...if you decide to harass Zverev personally then he could sue you like Ben Rothenberg just got sued... do it at your own peril.

Wow. That is cringe!!!!

That is pretty sick man.

Right but the guy was in the chair at the time lol

One of interesting facets of this list is that because "regular" players don't play doubles anymore, they don't have available the possible consolation of Grand Slam doubles championships. For example, Raul Ramirez and Brian Gottfried, both of whom are pretty high on this unfortunate ranking, were a fantastic doubles team and won three slams together, including Wimbledon. No, it's not singles, but it's not a whole career's worth of missing out either.

When Zverev said,he is the best player in the world (I think it was 2018,maybe2019),I told a friend that I am quite sure,he will win 2 Slams.

He was fined as you say $40,000 which was a hefty fine for literally attaching the umpire’s chair. That was a little too close for comfort for the ATP.

You can put that into perspective by comparing it to Djokovic smashing his racquet against the net post in frustration while playing Alcaraz at Wimbledon in 2023. Djokovic was fined $8,000 for that outburst.

There was the human factor in the Zverev incident that justified the hefty fine.

There’s a lot of angry men out there and I guess money doesn’t buy happiness after all

;)

Zverev is 27 now.
He's a renowned choker.
His game really is nothing special. Very generic and he lacks the mental strength needed to make the difference. This has been shown time and time again.
He has almost zero crowd support.
His chances are slim.

Looking forward to the day that the overrated arrogant punk with the man bun finishes at #1 on this list

Hope he never wins a major during his career, I've disliked him since the moment he first stepped onto the scene, his game is boring, he plays like a sissy for a guy of his height, his mental weakness has been exposed time and time again (thank goodness for Thiem winning 2020 USO otherwise Man Bun would be even more unbearable than he is now) and to top it all off, smashed his racquet against the umpire's chair during a doubles match loss in 2022 in Acapulco

Players on that list who have made the top 5 are the ones to highlight. Berdych & Tsonga we can understand why but Zvrerev has had several windows to win one.
