As it stands Alexander Zverev is #16 in the world having 2410 ranking points. Around 1200 pts is needed to stay in Top30, 600 pts to stay in Top100.

Sascha has a plenty of points to be defended on clay in the following weeks:
M-C (2022 SF) 360 pts
Madrid (2022 F) 600 pts
Rome (2022 SF) 360 pts
RG (2022 SF) 720 pts

-------
TOTAL 2040 pts (85% of his current total)

Winning everything would give him extra 3000 pts promoting to the #4 but this is not too likely.
Worst case scenario is
2410 minus 2040 = 370
Player ranked as no.161 has got 372 points at this moment.

Red alert. This is not funny anymore for Zedfans, guys.

Life comes at you fast

I do think he'll get it together at some point though. His level in the Medvedev match at IW was close enough to old Zverev that I doubt this will be a true Thiem situation.

Plus even if he does fall out of top 50, he can get these points back in the fall this year - he always goes deep at the indoor tournaments.

No matter. He will be alright eventually.

So, according to your criteria, Zverev will be a Finnish player for a short time and later he will be a German player again, right?
:D

Hmm. It didn't end well for him. Murdered at age 27, and most people falsely think that it was a suicide.

As for Zverev, he's going the way of Thiem at the moment, on a flight to Helsinki. They both need match wins for confidence, and badly.
He was a nice good person why would someone murder? Pissed off bad people involved in getting him his drugs? Cause obviously heavily into drugs

There are reasons and theories for all that. Whatever those reasons, let's just say this for certain, it 100% couldn't have been suicide for the following objective reasons: 1) There was three times the lethal amount of heroin (and black tar heroin at that) in his bloodstream. He'd have been unconscious for certain at the very least; 2) Even if he hadn't been unconscious (impossible), the death grip on the gun showed that he couldn't have shot himself at the angle that the bullet went into him without breaking his wrist; 3) Even if he had shot himself (impossible), the shotgun shell was on the wrong side of his body when the body was found.

This shows that he couldn't have shot himself, that somebody tried to make it look like a suicide and botched it, and that the police (for whatever reason) covered it up or were unbelievably incompetent.

If you keep the focus on the objective facts at the death scene, the "Kurt committed suicide" people have nowhere to go. As Tom Grant said years ago "Even if we assume that Kurt was suicidal, for the sake of argument, how does it alter the objective facts at the death scene?".

And falling outside the top 100 matters to an actually talented player, why? One good run and he'll be back at a seeded level again and he's capable of that easily.

Unseeded Zverev winning US Open would be a huge story.

Unless he's playing in the juniors division or WTA it ain't happening. Have you seen his FH lately? It's literally declined about 30% from his 2017-18 level.
Miami 2R vs Daniel Taro is a match to forget.
He was more than fine in IW 4R against Medvedev.

270 point lost in M-C.

Munich next week for the rescue.

Madrid will be hard task. Zverev's defending 600 points over there.

Path to the Munich F:
2R O'Connell/Humbert
QF Thompson/Otte/Baez
SF Rune/Sonego

Pretty unlucky draw. Rune is tougher than Fritz. Baez is the strongest claycourter among #5-#8 field.

Directed at Zverev's potential fall from the top 100. He just lost to the actor who played Robin in the 1990's Batman movies...how low can he go?

what about his suicide note?

what about his suicide note?
If you read it, the only part of it that seems like a suicide note in any way are the last 4 lines, which are done in a different style of handwriting to the rest of the note. The rest of the note makes it sound like he's taking a break or retiring from the music industry. And it was Rosemary Carroll, Kurt's and Courtney's lawyer, who was initially saying to Tom Grant that the last 4 lines wasn't Kurt's handwriting. It's on tape too, as Tom Grant recorded their conversations.

In late 1994, Rosemary Caroll sued Tom Grant. This was dropped once Tom said to Courtney in a phone call "let her go ahead, and watch me prove that she did say those things" only for Courtney to stammer all over the place in response. Since that day, they ignore Tom Grant, and they'll never sue him directly, since that would put things on official record.

O'Connell sent Z packing in straight sets.
Z looked a bit chilly- he was wearing spoarts leggings..
I'd kill to see him wear these for a match

But hey, as he recently stated; "I could have won Rolland Garros last year had I not got injured". Sweet leggings!

Shortly before Rome and Paris Zverev is virtually down to 550 points: 1630 minus 360 (Rome22) minus 720 (RG22).

His possible ranking positions after Roland-Garros:

DHTRhyE.png

For example:
Rome QF and RG 2R will give him #66,
Rome 3R and RG 1R will give him #94,
and so on.
