Bad news for the world of tennis. Alexander Zverev has revealed that he is suffering from pneumonia, which prompted him to withdraw from the ATP Beijing 2024 just after the conclusion of the last Laver Cup 2024. It's a significant setback for Sascha, who had his sights set on finishing among the top two of the year, and even approaching the number one spot currently held by Jannik Sinner. "Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with pneumonia, which explains my physical struggles in recent months. I need to take care of my health to get back to competing as soon as possible", the German stated when explaining his condition. A very tough blow for Zverev, who was supposed to face the Shanghai Masters 1000 as his next commitment.

excuses shmexcuses

but this time he could have played for his continent
No need at all

Is the continent on war with rest of the world. Don't be ridiculous. There is nothing like playing for your continent. Country is the final boundary

Final and most important.

Since Sinner skipped out on the Olympics, then we knew that he wouldn't give the Laver Cup a single thought.

Back to Zverev. Is he saying that he's had pneumonia for months now? He said that it explains his struggles in recent months.

I've never heard of pneumonia lasting months.

Zverev also said that the settlement outside court explains he is not guilty.

I have no dog in that fight. But this is tennis.

  • Bacterial pneumonia: Most bacterial pneumonia is cured in 1–2 weeks with treatment.

  • Viral pneumonia: Most viral pneumonia is mild and gets better without treatment within 1 to 3 weeks, but some cases are more serious and require a hospital stay. Walking pneumonia can take 4–6 weeks to go away.

  • Full recovery: Full recovery from pneumonia can take up to 3 months.

Is this a bad translation as in “future” meaning these next few weeks/next month because contracting pneumonia doesn’t leave his career in any sort of limbo. “Leaves his future uncertain” connotes that his career might be in jeopardy.

People will read and repost anything that is online. Obviously this is a trash website and the article was or may have well been written by a 1964 AI engine.

I read TTW posts by Dr Raul and beyond that I am very cautious. This way I receive only high quality information. I recommend Dr Raul’s current TTW series on electric vehicles.

I thought his career was ending, over pneumonia? Lol. Same as the crazy Fed fans claiming he was losing slams in the 2010’s because of some mono diagnosis in 2007.

Zed was one of the first players to contract and survive the Wuhan Virus (as it was known in 2019) while he was in China.

A lot of "news" are click and bait nowadays; not that our OP has attempted the leap into the main stream world of deceit but that even our forum members have learnt from the pro writers.

Zverev's still got a very bright future in tennis even with his pneumonia, diabetes and the load of criticism about his character and that he is a "woman-beater". He's now resilient to the world of crap and bad luck.

Well he does not have leprosy so thats good. Anyway, not that it matters, but all this dumb tennis after US open dont matter. You can see it here. No one cares. Maybe you care about what's going on in China. But no one else does. I am sure for the athletes it is important.

But people who watch sports dont give a crap. Win your masters Shanghi or Paris no one cares.

Any pneumonia is serious.

Hope he gets the proper treatment and is back to his best soon. The tour needs him.

Bro I’ve been getting heart palpitations and slight chest pains that cause me to almost lose consciousness in a bad way as I’m trying to sleep, also seem to have some lung damage as sometimes I cough so much that I can’t inhale without my esophagus making noise yet I still manage to watch TV. This guy can’t play cuz of pneumonia? Get on the court young man.

Last post was a joke. Zverev will eventually win multiple slams no problem no worries. ABZ in ruins hearing about Zverev’s pneumonia knowing he will come back and dominate. Honestly I would take Zverev over anyone left on tour in a head to head match right now if we’re going off talent. Only the big3 in their prime could take down Zverev without needing him to have a mental lapse.

It was obvious something was wrong, he was constantly coughing during Laver cup. Why did he even play?

You should transmit this information directly to Zverev. I am sure it would come as relief to him to know for certain.
