It's a pity he wasn't able to compete in 2022 finals to defend the trophy as Sascha in his traditional November shape is extremely hard to beat.
Therefore I don't consider this as a bold prediction: you can put his 3rd YEC title in the 2023 calendar.

2018 - 2021 - 2023

If you were trying to show some kind of pattern there, you failed misrably...because if i'm following your logic correctly, then 2024 is the magic year, not 2023...

No pattern.
Zverev is just the greatest YEC player in the Tour since 2016.

Without a doubt, Zverev would have beaten the weakest version of the six that Djokovic has won.
:(

The only player who can best a well playing Djokovic on HC imo.
This is true. Well him and Meddy his toughest opponents. Zverev defeated Novak in olympics, 2 big atp finals matches and a few hard court masters as well. The only thing he didn’t do is beat Djoko in slam but he did tire out Djoko a few times in tough matches.

As we know Meddy has done similar as well and got the major win. Those guys still probably his toughest players to face on hard courts when they fit and playing well.

Based on current form, I would say he's among the least likely to win this year's ATP Finals, but if his serve runs hot he obviously becomes live.

Assuming Zed continues having a high 1st serve percentage and keeps his df's to a minimum, he can win the YEC this year.

I had him # 4 going in behind Novak/med/sinner.
These courts are not suited to Carlos. On top of that he openly admitted he’s tired.

Nah he is behind Rune as well on top of those people...though Rune is unlikely to enter semis now, that he lost to Nole...can't see him even taking set of Sinner, let alone winning, even if he straight sets the heck out of Tsitsipas (which is also very likely!)...

Rune is not fit. Sure he can probably take out Stefanos. But he’ll struggle vs sinner.

Sascha can play very well on faster indoor surfaces.
Med loves these conditions. So does sinner. I think it’s no guarantee for Nole to win this event. I think sinner does win it if you tell me to pick one today.

Med and Rubles will likely qualify from their group. Z and Raz will probably be knocked out.

Yes! This is exactly what i predicted after the groups line-ups were revealed! Rublev and Medvedev from red group, Djokovic and Sinner from green one!...makes lots of sense!...

Yeah. Carlos and rune need to figure out how to condition themselves physically and mentally to play the final stretch after USO.
Don’t know if it’s lack of motivation or diet. Sometimes at 20 - you eat whatever you want bc your metabolism is super high.

Why Alcaraz is so ****ing bad indoors? It is ridiculous...
He performs so well on slower surfaces. Majority of tournaments are on slow surfaces in todays era. Indian wells and even Miami has Slowed down a bit.

Wimbledon grass isn’t as fast as it used to be. It’s troubling to me. And irritating.

The only one, that can stop Novak is Sinner...if Med or someone from his group takes him out in another semis and Novak doesn't get to play him in the final! Novak is taking the title home! I can only see Novak losing to Sinner by hair in the dramatic 3 setter in the final here!...

W grass is still faster than indoor hard courts. It works for Alcaraz because balls stay low on slices and his serves become effective. He's very good with volleys. W rewards skilful and creative players.

Indoor hard courts are air conditioned environments with no external factors like the sun and wind. His heavy shots don't do as much indoors because of pristine conditions.

Wimbledon grass slows down as the tournament progresses. And no indoor hard courts are still faster. He doesn’t have as much time to wind up and shoot that huge forehand

He isn't beating Sinner or Djokovic...it's entirely different ballpark, than edging barely moving Alcaraz by hair in 3 sets...
Zedrot is 4-1 against Sinner and just beat him 2 months ago at the USO. In fact, he's won the last 4 matches against Sinner. Suggesting he can't beat him is ludicrous.

If he can serve like that, maintain strong BG and his FH can hold up better then he’s got a great shot. He absolutely loves this tournament and these conditions.

Med was 6-0 against him and then sinner started turning it up a notch indoors after USO.

Sinners serve- first and second is starting to become a huge weapon when it used to be a liability.

Wimbledon grass keeps the ball low and unpredictable. Slices bite. It rewards creativity. It is slower than Sampras era but grass is grass.
Indoor hard does not. Balls are consistent. Fast and slow does not tell the whole story.

I predicted Zverev will make the semis likely along with Medvedev from his group in the tournament thread. Picked Djokovic and Tsitsipas from the other group, but Tsitsipas looks pretty shaky.
