TW has a new phantom pro for sale with a tighter string pattern and some more mass.
Both of these are welcome additions for that frame.

Haven't really considered many of the new Prince sticks for whatever reason, but some of them do look interesting... Have been thinking of going back to denser string patterns, but at same time I think 16x19 helped me a lot on the backhand.
Might be demo time when it starts warming up.
I admire the Phantom Pro 100 P greatly. The hoop shape isn't a real problem for me, just a mental one. But then I tell myself that this makes it wider across the face, and hence more amenable to putting spin on the ball. You can do a lot with this frame. I opted for the Textreme Tour 100 P simply because I felt it was more powerful from the baseline, which I feel I need.
High flexing frames really do need a tighter pattern for good directional control. The phantom 100 pro hoop shape is quite round. It seems more like a 101.5 to me.

Gotta complete the 3-2-1 collection!I find this new model extremely interesting, but having bought 3 93P and 2 PP100P in the space of a year, this madness has to stop.
Still, the combination of head size, static weight, balance, stiffness and string pattern is extremely tempting...
The phantom pro was round like an old head extreme. The TT 100p is more oval in shape. How would it compare to Textreme Tour 100P in terms of hoop shape ?

Thanks. That is quite important for me cause I'm coming from head prestige mp.
Low launch angle is also important for me.

Keeping Prince alive! Nice!

It’s been raining like crazy here in Socal. Also I’m waiting for my local shop to see if they will carry them(this and the new 93p). They brought in the other 93p and the Pro 100p but so far it doesn’t look good for them carrying these 2. Just not enough demand they say. Too bad because their prices are very good. Are these not shipping yet or the weather has been bad in the temperate parts of the US where no one has gotten a chance to hit with the new PP100 (18x20) yet? I'm surprised no one has even posted any remarks regarding their first hand impressions of this new frame after receiving it.

I like this idea a lot. I live pretty close as well and was planning on going in person a few times per week, now I’ll wear a disguise. LolI’ve been having the same conversation with (I’m guessing) the same shop. If we get enough customers, maybe we can meet the minimums.
Let’s all call several times a day with fake voices to influence their decision!

Yea I was told that they have to order a bunch to hit the minimums-I’m guessing to keep their prices low-so they can’t just bring like 2-3 in for just me. Def interested in how you like the 100p. I honestly think the Phantoms are the best line of frames out right now. Prince as a whole actually may have the best overall lineup. Something for everyone.Interesting point, because it shows how distribution and marketing are related. I like that Prince spends a lot in R&D to deliver good products, rather than endorsement / marketing. But this means that they don't generate enough demand, and their distribution suffers as a consequence.
In any case, where my mind's at right now is probably testing a leather grip on the PP100P. That will make the frame more headlight (which is one of the features I like very much in the 93P), while getting a static weight around 320g, which I feel is is right for me, the 93P being a tad heavy and the PP100P a tad light.

Tell the doctor that I'll order one.

Prince just needs a talented player to bear the P. Even at the club level to get some heads turning. Maybe a bit of persuasion to that player we know that always has arm issues. I feel like it's been the word on the street lately along with the Wilson clash.
I heard in Asian countries Prince is more easily found in stores. My brother visited Japan and said it was the Wilsons he didn't see much of.
I think Japan is a very specific market for Prince, which seems to get a lot of their attention as they come up every year with Japan only models. They must be popular over there to warrant this effort.
I don't think any other Asian market gets anywhere as much attention from them.
Arriving tomorrow! Stringing it up after work and going to play some mixed. I normally play with the 16x18 Pro strung at 45/43.
I think Japan ends up being the test market for Prince. Release a lot of ideas into that market and see what the players like before bringing it to the rest of the world.
I personally love Japan and the Japanese, but doing business there can be quite disorienting.
Been seeing waves of that everywhere the past few years (Europe, isolated incidents in US etc). Racism and xenophobia is on the rise globally, unfortunately. I finished my doctorate in 2015 and this was part of my dissertation back then. I doubt things have changed for the better.Being geographically isolated and significantly xenophobic has definitely influenced that culture along very different lines from most of the Western world.

Of course its weird they haven't opened up the coffers to get someone like Osaka or Nishikori sponsored. That seems like a no brainer from a marketing standpoint especially competing with Yonex out there.
Yes, my point was as a corollary to yours regarding xenophobia, right wing ultranationalist rhetoric, and racism etc that are on the up.Yeah but Japan was like this going way back to pre WWII. They've always been less multicultural with far less immigration than you'd expect for an industrialized nation. 98% of the population is ethnically Japanese. That's crazy homogeneity.
Even the most nationalistic European country is nowhere near that degree of "ethnic purity".
So their uniqueness sets them apart that way including their taste in tennis rackets.
Wait, are you talking about Japan or the US?.

Good to see that the Phantom is a 320g frame. A leather grip and a little lead should be all that it needs.
Troy knows a good thing when he's on to it.Oh no! Did Troy from TW hack into your account? Haha!
Being geographically isolated and significantly xenophobic has definitely influenced that culture along very different lines from most of the Western world. They are the unique snowflakes of the modern world. I like their kookiness as it adds a little flavor to the human experience.
I am not sure if they are xenophobic toward everybody.
For example, they might be xenophobic toward other Asians but admire top countries in western world.
In their anime's, they tend to draw asians and africans like white people.
It’s called isolationism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SakokuAnother sign of their unique look on things. Maybe xenophobia is the wrong word because I don't think they hate western culture, but they seem to isolate themselves from it and don't let it overtake their own unique culture. They just grab the odd thing that strikes their fancy and often its entirely different than what becomes popular in the Western World.
