Rafa to make a last push here. It ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Unfortunately in these conditions so often it's out of your hands... FAA one more game of serving well and nothing Rafa can do. He had his chances and didn't convert.

Nadal is 36, it's ridiculous that some think it's an indicator of his real level indoors. Federer in this age didn't even try playing on clay, in case anyone forgot. Of course when Nadal was in better form (2010 or 2013) he had to play very in-form Federer and Djokovic.

Not an unreasonable point, but still these two matches have been unbelievably depressing.

As I said earlier, it just seemed like FFA was a bigger number here. Pretty much a routine win. Nadal needs to reset for Ruud now.

Its only right that Nadal is so good on clay that he gets to avenge these losses and have these dudes feel helpless lol, its like they don’t get to feel the actual Rafa indoors.

So will Nadal bow out now? Or will he drag his sorry, scratchy rear out for one more match?

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Rowdy Rune make his debut, and take on his good friend Ruud.

I have come to terms now with Novak being the GOAT sort of feels inevitable now doesn’t it. Nadal has been on such a decline post Wimby this year… I believe he still will be competitive come OZ open but it kind of feels like the end is neigh…

Im glad im only catching a bit of this lol it’s like someone trying to fight while handcuffed. Never watching Rafa indoors again it’s always like a Michael Jackson impersonator spinning in the wrong direction and kicking with the wrong leg :X3:
I don’t mind he never wins this tournament but it kind of makes u think the GOAT of tennis needs versatility and nadal for sure has won on everything bar indoors where his FH lacks the venom it has outdoors..

It's shocking that Ralph at the age of 36 is still able to dupe people into thinking he has a chance against anyone at the WTF. Even dudes who know something about tennis like stringertom....

Anything but Ralph losing all of his matches would've been a miracle

Because Djokovic has played Nadal off clay so much these past 3 years.
They played 7 times in 2015-2016. That's without even mentioning the 3 matches in the second half of 2009, and other times when Nadal was clearly out of form. How many times did they meet when Djokovic was out of form? When that happens Djokovic makes sure to lose in early rounds.

Not to mention that calling DO a clay tournament is ridiculous.

So… I believe Nadal’s only shot at advancing now is for Fritz to beat Ruud in straights. Any other result tonight and Nadal is mathematically eliminated. And, well, even if that does happen, he’s got a ton of ground to make up in the game scores. Probably like a 1 in 1,000 shot of him playing a fourth match here.
