Its funny,,… a certain vintage racquet is mentioned on the TW message boards and at the same time people start bidding for these same racquets on the bay that were never of interest before… Coincidence??????

I have noticed an increased interest in certain racquets on the bay that were recenlty discussed in this forum

maybe i should start discussing some of my racquets on TW boards that I want to get rid of on the bay

create a hunger (interest) and demand rises

part of the reason why these boards are such a genius idea by TW

I've also noticed that in your case Rorsach, you've got a nice cache of second hand shops in your area to score some decent frames......

where does he live?

In the Netherlands.

Almost everyone has the chance to find some nice frames, you just have to put some time in it to visit some thrift stores and yard sales.

Then again, i'm paying 1 euro per kilo for most of my racquets.

thats not so tru e in the US... the bay is big here and many people have wised up and instead of selling it in a yard sale or thrift stores... they just post it on the bay

new school ppl might have wised up but the majority, the senior citizens -no offense to n.e1- still do it the trad'l way, by garage sales (where the gold are)

the problem is, if im there, no matter how much i would want to score a rare vintage in a yard sale..most likely i will end up in a coffee shop eating a space cake

i guess it also depends in what part of the country you live in as well... there are none around here... ive looked

funny point by the OP; fellow collectors and I who obsess about our favorite brands used to talk about this endlessly. I was called foolish by several of them for "puttin it on the radar".( in reference to making a thread about a racquet that I had been after actively for years and alerting others at the same time). Fact is that vintage racquets play much nicer than modern ones. St. Vincent makes sure, though, that no one gets rich off of graphite or Kevlar. our world is beyond money...it's all about ethics...we are here living for and awaiting the resurection (of the 85!), time alone, time will tell, our paintjobed heaven is your sweatshopped hell....
