>:ONothing personal, but I could care less for him, that team and that entire conference.

What about the Bears?
As a vikings fan I have two thoughts
1. the rational part of me says (sadly) that favre is the best QB on the team now and it is always good to improve your team. Plus he pretty much is doing this to stick it to the Packers.
2. The un-rational part of me hates all the drama, thinks he is close to being a cancer. I hate the stories about him not attending meetings, needing 6 lockers, doesn't want to come to training camp, and is an attention hog. Plus worst of all he is a packer.
where does that leave me?
um....I think I just threw up in my mouth.
JBfan-you're not alone. I was talking to my brother the other day & feels the same way you do. I am becoming more and more disenchanted by him...
I'm a huge packer fan and I just lost whatever respect I had left for him. All my friends who are packer fans feel the same way. I lost a alot after he decided to sign with the jets, despite having a great year with the packers. now he goes to a rival team. if this forum wasnt censored I would have a lot more in this post

^ He did.
Several times.
No he didn't Deuce - Brett never missed an NFL game.
I think it's good for football & good for the Vikes - really, who'd we have TJ for QB or Rosey. If he stays injury free, it's a step up for the upcoming season, + it's good theater.
This isn't soap operas. This is the NFL. If I need good theatre, I'll go out and watch Wicked.
ESPN treats this guy like he's bigger than the league, honestly. He'll probably get more coverage than some teams get the whole season.
Nonetheless, he did announce his retirement several times. No he didn't Deuce - Brett never missed an NFL game.
Nonetheless, he did announce his retirement several times.
And when one announces one's retirement, one is retired.
Maybe in the wild world of Deuce, but in the NFL, until one files their retirement papers, they are not technically retired, and Favre never filed his retirement papers, so therefore...
He did file his retirement papers.

He conned the Jets by asking them to cut them, then talking to the Vikings once they did cut him. The Jets should get some compensation from the Vikings, since Favre pulled a fast one on them.
ahh ' Cry me a river."
Here's what I don't get, when Favre blows out his bicep around mid November they'll be back to the Tavaris vs Sage situation except neither of those guys would have played more than one or two drives in clean up situations. I don't see quite how a 40 year old Favre who broke down horribly last year, didn't attend camp because he considers himself above the college dorm lifestyle, can be expected to be anything but clubhouse cancer?
Rosenfels is a career backup, so he is the perfect man to be the #2.
Not to defend Favre, but do you really see the other 3 quarterbacks in MN being any moe effective than a 40 year old Favre? I sure don't, and Adrian Peterson can only carry a team so far behind a shoddy quarterback. I, for one, am excited to see what can come out of this.
Is he still around??
He's the better option for this season, but they'll be stuck next year with two extremely disgruntled quarterbacks and it'll be the same situation as this summer (minus the Favre distraction).
I'd bet good money that Jackson is gone before this season is over, Rosenfels is looking elsewhere, and the Vikings take a QB in the draft.
Let's see how you feel next offseason when he 'retires' from the Vikings only to come back w/ another team to try and win a SB. We'll see who's crying then. And I promise you, it won't be Brett and his crocodile tears.

True Story
i was driving to school and passed a local church and the big church bulletin said "How not to be Brett Favre - Sunday at 10 am"
Why does it make people so mad that he's playing for the Vikings? He's a quarterback. That's his profession. He's doing a job. Since when is someone doing their job an offensive act?
Sports fans are a strange breed.
