interesting that you bring this up. I'm planning on starting a thread describing my own experiences with visualization, as I only get to play about once a week.

In a nutshell, I suspect that engaging in detailed mental simulations of strokes and footwork can help guide motor learning. One of the keys is to use real world experience to continually debug these simulations.

well what you're doing from what i read on daniel coyle's the talent code, is called deep learning process.. that i can understand and when applied to my students, it works tremendously well.. what i really what to know is that from a video of the harrison brothers' day at NBTA, they have a mental training session of 1 hr in a room with a mental training coach.. what exactly do they do that ?

samatha meditation... or zhine...
google it, or look for some budhists or zen people, they can teach you. its a simple technique, but that doesnt mean its easy.

we are used to respond to every stimuli around, and this teaches you to concentrate in one thing only, and to observe your emotional and thinking patterns...
it will help your tennis and your overall life, having less stress and a stronger immune system for example, and you will deal in a whole different way with your Unforced errors :D
withtime and practice...

"Mental training" will make you more mental and cost you quite a lot.

It is better to improve your game by removing technical flaws from your strokes, work at your conditioning, and play lots of practice sets, and play lots of tournaments.
