My personal favorites are, on the ATP tour: Richard Gasquet, WTA:Daniela Hantuchova. Love watching their strokes, its like poetry in motion :)

I know the obvious choice for most would prolly be fed and henin. Nadal methinks is too brutish, as is Serena lol.

Federer's footwork is a work of art. I personally think Gasquet's backhand is effective but hideous. I like Roddick's serve, it's very unique.

ATP: Simone Bolleli, David Nalbandian, and Fabrice Santoro.

WTA: Justine Henin, Samantha Stosur, and Francesca Schiavone.

I chose on the basis of all these players on the basis of their whole games and not on one particular stroke.

What's wrong with saying Federer FH and BH?

Repeated too many times?

Too bad.

Dont try to be cute, or silly.

Marcelo Rios had some very fluid shots and movement overall, looked really light on his feet.

Davydenko's footwork is spectacular.

Nalbandian's backhand.
Gasquet's backhand.
Anything by Santoro.

Ivo Karlovic has an unparallel elegance and beauty :D

also Roddick's serve is like ballet.

lol, i personally think Karlovic looks very awkward in his movement, no grace to it. my personal opinion. Were you being sarcastic? (no malice intended so dont...)

what do you guys think about Daniela Hantuchova? I think her shotmaking is so damn beautiful, those long long arms and legs move so gracefully, beautiful ball striking. (sighs) ;)

I think I've gotten tired of watching feds game because he makes so many slam finals and those are mainly the matches I watch all the way through. Plus there are other players out there who have great strokes but dont necessarily win because they lack the drive, mental strength or a complete game. So we pay tribute to them here ;) lol

Fed's got a beautiful game just tired of watching it.

I think one of the few people who can outplay Fed style wise is Nalbandian. I remember how he took fed apart in the Madrid final in 2007, that was such a beautiful match, Nalbandian was playing so craftily he put Fed to shame (a near impossible thing to do).

I think he only sums up his phenomenal game against Fed though.

most modern forehands are pretty 'violent' by necessity, but yeah, rios' was smooth as silk. it looked like he didn't hit the ball so much as he gave it a little nudge, like, 'there you go, little buddy, off to that corner over there, good job! like he was loading a first grader on the bus for the first day of school.

backhand was money, too, but i prefer 1h.

2006 Federer puts any Nalbandian to shame.....

I personally love Mauresmo's, Henin's and Gasquet's backhands. was lucky enough to have watched them live in action.....I'm sure those of you who was able to see them live too would agree with me that their backhands are even more beautiful in person, esp Gasquet's.

Santoros shots are great looking too - saw him up close at the US Open this year too. He was in outer court like probably court 11 or 17 (I cannot exactly remember which court) that time against Ferrero.....but you can imagine how close one can be in those outer courts......his strokes are so beautiful and seem effortless. He went on to lose that match though.

I agree that Federer's footwork is great too.

Yeah, watching too much can be tiring I know...

But if a pretty stroke doesnt make you perform or doesnt win you anything, it loses it's value right there. I keep hearing about Gasquet backhand, how pretty and good looking it is, but it never got him a final in anything worth mentioning. I guess I prefer getting tired from watching a pretty stroke that wins a major than the one that goes out on the second round.

I understand the "tribute" concept though. I guess I am just more practical. In the world of sports it's performance that comes first. Performance without looks is good. Performance with looks is great. And then there is looks without performance... reminds me of those Ferrari kit cars they sell with a Honda engine. They still look good, but nobody pays tribute to them.

I hope Gasquet makes a good use of that pretty BH this year:)

I would vote for Fed also - so elegant.

What I love about his game is that the better tennis player you are the more you appreciate it.

If talk about beautifull

1 Almagro FH and 1HB. He would win against anybody with his strokes if he only learned to be patient and at least come to net more than once in a Match. Also work more in his physique.
2 Federer FH
3 Nalbandian BH
4 Roddick Serve.
5 Blake FH

I also like Warwinka, Haas 1BH and Verdasco FH

Almagro FH and BH.

Berdych FH, BH, and serve.

Hewitt serve, return, and movement.

Gasquet BH and stationary forehand, on the run there are too many moving parts and it looks uncoordinated..

Baghdatis anything.

Nalbandian anything.

Murray slice backhand.
