New IG Radicals a Bust?

It seems like there are an unusual number of the new IG Radicals for sale in the For Sale or Trade part of the forum. I had high hopes for the IG Pro, but it was sluggish and not stiff/ crisp enough for me. The IG Rad MP was fine, but I prefer a more open string pattern. With all of the buildup and hype for the new IG Radical line, it's pretty quiet now. I know there has been a huge number of new racquet lines out, but the activity in the For Sale forum seems somewhat telling.

I wanted to love the IG Radical Pro but it was too flexible for my tastes. It seems that there are many people trying to get rid of their Radical Pros already. I would snatch one up and put a stiff poly in the racquet if everyone wasn't selling them for over $150. That could be the reason why so many Radicals are in the For Sale section - people are trying to sell them for too much.

Does anyone know why they're that flexible when their spec doesn't seem any different from the prestige line?

It seems also that the love for the flexy new Prince EX03 tours did not carry over to the radicals.

The IG Prestige seems to have been very well received. With the YTs, I think that many didn't like the stiffness and harshness of the Prestiges and looked at the Radicals. With the IGs, the Prestiges are no longer harsh but they still have that nice crisp feeling and maybe more people want that.

I have YT Prestiges and Radicals but the IG Prestiges. Overall, I think that I play better with the Prestiges and like the feel and lack of harshness from the IGs better than the YTs.

I think the IG Radical MP is improved over the Youtek Radical MP and what you seeing are mostly Radical IG Pros that are in the for sale section. The reason is that they change the Youtek Radical Pro from 100 sq inch to 98 sq inch which many of us thought might make it a better racquet.

I had high hopes for the Rad Pro IG but during the demo but it felt sluggish compared to my PSTGT and glad I had a chance to just demo one instead of buying one.

The IG Radical MP on the other hand is much improved from the Youtek Radical MP due to Innegra material making it a more solid racquet with a bit more pop. I plan on getting one once I can sell some of my other racquets.

I can't see why the rad pro wouldn't be less sluggish than the blx blade 98, although it hasn't quite taken off as well as the kblade version.

I was pleasantly surprised by the all new Rad Pro, I thought the YT version was a total lemon. I think the IG Rad Pro is a decent stick, amazingly powerful for a flexible frame. Head have done a good job on the redesign.

I agreed with Parasailing that the new IG Rad MP is a little more stable than the Utek Rad MP. I've tried lead tape at 2 & 10 and on the handle to make it 11.75 oz strung with around 5 points headlight. It works great for me. But then when i borrowed my friend the Donnay Pro One for a couple of days and tried it, i wanted to get rid of the Utek IG Rad MP right away to buy the Donnay. The Pro One seems a little hollow but when i add 6g lead tape at 2 & 10 and another 6g on handle, it becomes..............awesome. The swingweight is still on a little light side but not too light to have a floating feelings. One more thing, i put the pro one on top of the IG Rad MP, they are exactly the same from head to toe. Amazing?

The IG rad pro is an awesome racquet, if you turn it into a "pro" racquet. It almost seems as though when Head designed the racquet, they had a customization friendly racquet in mind. At first, I wll say I was questioning mine. It was light, flexible, mushy, and uncontrollable. Well, then I added 6 gr @ 3 and 9 and 12 gr to the handle (18 gr overall) which almost puts the racquet @ 12 oz and the thing feels awesome. It blew my mind how much more solid and stable the racquet felt with some added weight. Im sure the MP is similar

IG Rad Pro

I mostly agree with the last poster. I found it a pretty nice stick but a tad sluggish probably do to the weighting and was thinking of customizing it in a similar way if I bought one. I think it does have a nice blend of control, power and feel. Doesn't have the same solid prestige like feel, still a bit hollow and tinny but only a touch of that. I really needed a dampner on it but with the right set up could be a sweet.

When I get the IG Rad MP, I will give your suggestion a shot. The Donnay Pro One is a pretty nice racquet but I still have concerns over whether it causes arm pain in the long run. I tried the other Donnays and all seem to have a pretty solid feel but after a couple hours of hitting, I could feel some soreness in my shoulder which I don't get when hitting with the Babolat PSTGT.

As for the Radical Pro IG, it does feel better than the Youtek version but still feels sluggish when swinging the racquet. I find even though it weighs less than the PSTGT, I notice a drop in racquet speed when swinging the frame. That was the biggest thing that deterred me from buying one.
