They are not a tennis apparel company and don't want to be......they use Nole and Kai as "walking billboards" it's only made in limited amounts and sold in only in certain locations.
The tennis line is just used as promotional item.
Tennis apparel or no, I'd say their marketing-via-endorsement strategy is working just fine...in my case. I had no idea who the hell Uniqlo was before I saw the patch on Nishikori's shirts. Heck, I thought he was promoting a University or college somewhere. Now it's my preferred choice for wardrobe basics.
No different with what Cerrutti 1881 did with Connors and Wilander in the 80s
Uniqlo Japan's version of The Gap.
i dont think it will benefit them that much. although it would be nice for us tennis fans here
The designs they have for the tennis gear is typically Japanese sportwear. There are a number of Japanese sportwear companies you don't see elsewhere and they've all been doing designs very much like these for over 20 years. I used to see it everywhere when I visited in the 90s. It was very team gym wear inspired stuff for the most part.Really? I honestly think this brand is pretty bland and boring because of their limited selection and poor design.

They have a variety of dri-fit sportswear to choose from. They have sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, and polos outside the Novak and Nishikori line. They also have wrist bands, headbands.
The design isn't my type though. Their design is very Japanese, similar to Mizuno with all the flashy colors that reminds me of gym clothes or running singlets.
Oh, isn't there a Uniqlo web site?
The UNIQLO website isn't accurate. I don't know in your part of the country but our UNIQLO stores are selling a lot more types of clothes than what is listen in our UNIQLO website.
Except for the Lacoste Sport line, which is pretty bad as well.
Well the prices are ok. The design is actually great. I just have issues with the fit and the fabric. You just get what you pay for so don't expect full cotton when you buy their $20 polos.
well, IMHO, H&M and Uniqlo apparel seem so low quality. And let me add that nothing is better than Lacoste talkin' about high quality clothing ...

They do have some full cotton polos and I've seen them go on sale for 12 bucks. The Bastian polos were full cotton.
I agree though that the standard dry pique polo isn't made of the best fabric. The fit on most of their stuff is good for me though--it's definitely more trim than most brands.
JFYI, Uniglo, had a blimp fly over the Pro Tour tournament at Tiburon, announcing their new store opening in downtown frisco last fall.
Really? I find myself going down a size in Uniqlo stuff. Especially with the boxy pique polos.
Has anybody tried their dry mesh and dry ex shirts? Wondering if they are any good...
OT here but tom, are you from Tiburon? I just went to Sausalito with my mom for the first time in my life back in April. We were going to go over to Tiburon but didn't have quite enough time. If you do live there, how do you like it?
