Ive been looking at different types of poly and monofiliment strings and I came across this one...I was wondering what you guys think of it and if you have used it how long it lasted. Thanks!!

I just got done using it. Played well for me. Good feel and spin production. I like RPM blast better personally. I am still feeling the effects of a separated shoulder. I used a generic gut in the crosses. PHT didn't cause me any additional pain/soreness after or during play. It lasted about a month for me and started to die. I ended up popping the gut after started to feel the PHT die off.

i like the pht, it seems like it's a best seller, well in my area at least. i like it's control and power. spin didn't do well. realized that the pht has really dull edges compared to rpm/ tour bites
I used PHT for years. Simply a phenomenal string. Great power, spin potential, feel - everything a string should be. Personally, I do not like RPM Blast. I found RPM to be too stiff of a string and thought it died out way too quickly. As for PHT, at the end of the day I switched to Volkl Cyclone Tour, which is a softer string with great spin potential. Does not last as long as PHT, but it is easier on the arm. In my older age, softer = better.

It plays extremely well for right around 6-8 hours and then it turns into a rocket launcher and is not very fun to play with. Plays great fresh, very good spin and control.

played today in a double. 3 sets , 2 hours and 30 min of play, the string has now 6 hours. still very good control from the baseline but at the end of the match the lose of tension was notable.
when playing against heavy hitters a fresh string job is a must .
after i finish the poly plasma reel i will switch to Pro Hurricane Tour. I like it better than Poly Plasma, Big Hitter Blue or Black Widow.

Do yourself a favor and order couple set of 18 gauge from TW in Europe. they only sell this gauge in Europe. It blows away RPM blast and most other polys, with great control and good power.

with PHT, it goes dead at around 6 hour mark and I either break it or I have to cut it out. so for me it works out perfectly. I hate playing with dead poly in the racket. It is really bad for control and also for your arm

I am also interested in the Hurricane Tour 17. Can anyone compare this to Tecnifibre Razor Code carbon 17? I string at 55lbs in a Volkl PB10 Mid. Long fast swing, good racquet head speed with moderate-heavy topsin (depending on situation). Btw, at 55lbs I experience no discomfort. Totally comfortable for me.

RPM didn't feel stiff, it felt mushy for me. But yes it did due out. That first day with it is just amazing.

Okay maybe compare it with Black Widow? I used that for a few months at 55lbs.

black widow has more spin but less power it has advantages like better consistency but you give your opponent the chance to attack short balls . in the end after 10h of play Black Widow feels a little stiff and with no power at all. I prefer poly like Poly Plasma that are more powerful as they approach the end of their life.
PHT feels better , more crisp. The comfort feels the same. I know that most users are saying that PHT is stiff but for me felt as comfortable as Black Widow and from all poly tested with PHT the sweetspot feels very very nice. More sweet that poly plasma

about comfort . i play full poly . i don't like very soft strings as polyfibre rapid or polystar energy and i don't like very stiff strings. PHT is just in the middle .
the only elbow problem ( it felt little sore for 1 hour after playing ) that i had were 2 years ago when i used an Luxilon ALU Power in a Babolat APD GT , strung at 59 lbs. a very high tension for polys . and after 20 hours i decided to cut the string and use a signum pro tornado at a lower tension.

I use the 16 Gauge version in my BLX PS 90 in a hybrid. PHT 16 at 52 lbs on the mains and Gamma Synthetic Gut 15L or 16 in the crosses at 55. I have similar hybrids with BHBR 16 and PH 17 in the mains and PHT is my favorite setup. Putting it in a hybrid softens the string bed while lowering the cost of the string job if you do multiple racquets. It lasts longer than BHBR. Like other people said, it takes about a set to break in, but then you get about 7-8 hours of great hitting. I have also used it in a full string job and would definitely recommend the hybrid with synthetic gut in the crosses at about +3 pounds. Similar performance with a softer string bed.
