On a more important note...I just received an e-mail from Nike. 20% off clearance items from their site!! Getting another pair of Max Cages as well as a shirt or two. If anyone is interested in the discount code, shoot me an e-mail.

Shoot me an email please!

I had to delete the -- losing your latina card if you used anything premade.

I was wondering if you can bake the empanada's? I need to go visit my local asian grocery store. I am having some crazy idea about making my own Jamaican Beef Patties with these shells.

That's actually how we make them, in the oven @ 375 for ~ 20 min. There's also an egg wash you brush over them before going into the oven that gives it a nice brown color.

when is the big date? you should love it there. everyone else from the Navy community cries about having to move back from SD.

I heard it's just as expensive to live in SD as to DC. Never been there but I heard it's like FL w/o monsoon season, high humidity and big bugs.

Will probably start house hunting end of May and then move around June/July. This could change depending on if/when I can find a job out there.

Maybe I'll open up my own food truck... or work in a surf shop. I'm tired of the industry I'm in.

I might even start playing tennis again.

If I go, it will be during the 1st weekend. Feeling lazy though about that 4 hour car drive...

I can sense the mcbail. You are definetly posting in the right chapter.

My time as the "el Jefe" of this group, I felt successful meetings had to have three things to avoid mcbails (in order of importance)

-food
-beer
-available tennis courts at the best price

If you have those "they will come".

got the chance to take out the organix v1 mp. for some reason, it felt stiffer than my v1p. stiffness rating is the same. the v1p just has more feel. the ox1 mp has biphase in it. I am stringing it up with cyclone 18g hot pink and see how it plays.. somehow I sense a for sale ad is coming n the near future.

High School tennis season started last week (tryouts). I was able to hold 1 day of tryouts as school was closed Wednesday (snow), Thursday (parent/teacher conferences) and Friday it was too cold to practice outside (VHSL rules).

Luckily only 13 tried out and I was planning on keeping 14, so I have my team. However...

The 10 day forecast has two days above 45, and rain for both those days. Every other day is mid-to-low 30s. WTF?!?!

do high schoolers practice indoors nowadays? I figured with families being more richer than I was growing up, I figured schools worked out deals with indoor facilities.

Maybe in areas where teams have a chance of going to States, or in our case, where the assistant coach of a competing school owns the local tennis club, but outside of that, not in our area.

However, if this trend continues, I may take a poll & see if how many are interested in shelling out $15-$20 for some court time.

That is what you get when you live at 39 degrees latitude just below the arctic circle. I predict you'll get like 2 weeks of spring and then a heat wave will settle in.

Watched an opens tournament at my club the other day. Some players are playing futures and challengers. I would say the average age in Open was 17.. the top seed is probably mid 20s (two hands on both sides)

Semis racquets for open - Head (Djoke), Yonex (330g 97), Blade 98 (open pattern, and APD

Head and Yonex won.

40's group - Ncdoe 95, Volk, Prince (the old one that Isner played with), and the APD.

Prince wont tournament.

30's - didn't see.

In the open - 1 player was a one hander in the semis. lost I believe.. yonex guy took him out from what I heard.

40s' both finalists one hander. Semifinalists 1/2 were 2 handers.

Nike prevailed most outfits.

One injury i say.. ankle.. yes it was Adidas.
