17g -> 16g nat gut, how much tension adjustment?

I have a Klip Legend gut hybrid now in my MG P Pro - 17g m's @58 and isospeed pro at 61. I'm thinking of trying a full gut job with the Legend 16g version for a little extra stability. I know there are other factors involved but just from string gauge perspective, to achieve as close in feel as possible, how much should I adjust the tension in the mains for the gut? 1-2 pounds lower? Thanks.

You should optimally just start at the same tension. If you like it, then fine, otherwise you can restring to your preference.

I know this is an expensive way to do it, but it's defininitly better than just guessing.

as a side question here...is there a power differential between the 2 gauges? i mean stringing at the same tension is there a noticeable difference in power?

Well, if you think about it, a thinner string flexes more hence more power but also bites the ball more for spin, so they kinda cancel each other out, no?

Thanks guys.... I will use the same tension for 16 and 17 g then.

Supposedly same string in thinner gauge gives you more power, in general. Not sure about Kilp legend in particular though.

i kinda thought that thinner string has more elasticity which produces more power but i've gotten opposing feedback from other players. so was curious what the forum had to say. thanks for your input.
