Really? I was watching on livescore and both times Switzerland lost serve I thought "omg Bencic can't hold for s*** again" lmaoWhat a nail biting finish.

Federer this week establishing himself as the clear second favorite for the Australian Open, after the formidable, unrelenting Novak Djokovic.
While the latter is still the runaway favorite, his shaky performances in Doha and Fed's form in Hopman at least put some more suspense into the title race.

Federer always comes in strong at the beginning of the year.
But what about Ferrer this tournament? The guy never quits - someone should sit the likes of Kyrgios in a room and make them watch Ferrer highlights all day. I feel like I've gained so much respect for the way he goes about his business as I've grown older. I'm sure he'll have a lot to offer to younger players as a coach once he retires in May.

Good to see Switzerland winning in the end. Nearly messed up in the doubles while serving for the match at 3-2.
Nice to see Fed's net play+reflexes in doubles. Treat to watch.
Bencic supported him pretty well.
I don't know why fed didn't/doesn't use the I/O BH return in singles (esp. vs Rafa) as he does in doubles.

It's the other way round. It's easier to hit 'with the spin' so the I/O B/H return makes more sense against Rafa as the ball is already spinning towards Fed's left.

Ya. Fedr played pretty well the whole week, but the stats still surprised me. Not only him. The ratios for Fedr, Zverev, and Tiafoe were all a bit surprising to me. I mean, Z played against Pouille/Ebden/retiring-Ferrer in 3of4 matches...
