I was surprised Bencic wasn't a choice, given her momentum.

I would say Julia, but I don’t think she’s going to make it that far. I think Sabalenka is going to take it all. She’s a really strong player with a killer serve. If she can keep her emotions in check, she’ll take it. @NaomiKonjuhPotapova who do you think will take it?
Xiyu - won USO Jrs.
why what happenedBianca sure took a step down in court placement.
Not as crazy when you remember who won Indian Wells two weeks before Konta won Miami. So bizarre to think of Konta winning this not that long ago.
I watched that final and had completely forgotten about it until I clicked the spoiler button. Not as crazy when you remember who won Indian Wells two weeks before Konta won Miami.
Give it a minute and try to remember cause it’s an easy one to get.
Vesnina
Nah, Kournikova was 14 when she won her first main draw match and Hingis had just turned 14 when she played and won her first WTA main draw match.
I'm just glad she copied the grunt and not the shriek!I'm afraid Danilovic (Wearing Sharapova's line) grunt is slowly turning into Maria. Just watch the 4:00 onward it's pretty similar.
Venus looks lethargic. No serve.
The outfit is fire tho.
I'll go for Bencic, but I'm hoping for Kasatkina or Barty.
I agree. In fact, there seems to be a flurry of this occurring in tennis. Many older players just don't want to let go. I know the fame and money is wonderful, but sometimes it's prudent to accept it's time to move on.If Venus wants to go out on her own terms, she should retire this year. Otherwise she will wash out, which would be sad after her career.
WowChange of program tomorrow with the rain today

Double fault from Bianca and Brgu goes up a set and double break 6-4 4-1...
I disagree that younger women shouldn't be allowed to play. Everyone loved Hingis becoming number 1 at about 16 years of age and so many other youngsters too breaking out from a young age. I do agree that on court coaching needs to go, it just makes them look like they can't figure it out themselves. Give the ladies a chance to work their way out of trouble! She sounds like a whiny teenager during her coaching session. Wait, she is one. I'm going to voice the unpopular opinion again that the WTA should eliminate coaching and raise its minimum age. Just because girls are physically mature at a younger age than boys doesn't make them adults. I was really horrified to see a 15 year old in the main draw. That almost seems like a child labor violation.
Testing, it seems ....
