Still, looking at the glass half full here. American tennis is back on the up and up, and who knows what could happen going forward
And with more of a solid chance to improve. Ben is a no-limit type; Tommy, who has lived in the Fritz shadow since 2015 when they split the RG/USO finals they played, is ruggedly more stable than mercurial Taylor. That’s an excellent triumvirate but, wait there’s more but with question marks:

Can Korda avoid a big setback physically?
Can Tiafoe kick his own arse into gear?
Will Opelka get healthy and start bombing again?
Will Brooksby finally learn an ATP serve?
Will J.J stay hungry like a Wolf?
Can Brandon Nakashima supplant Fritz and @sureshs as San Diego’s #1?

Pouille
Federer of 38 years old and injured
Karatsev
Paul
You know, Tiley's protégé has to win at all costs.
:D
Oh yeah forgot about pouille he had a lot of potential, I think TP is worse though. Karatsev wasn’t as bad as those other 2 though and 38 yr old Fed is better than all 3

Exactly, there's finally some prospects to be excited about. No longer just potential, there's both potential and some results coming in

Just all round game he is literally one of the biggest bums

Maybe, but he played the matches and got there. What's the point in harping on his relative strength or weakness as a semi-finalist? I get it, you want a blockbuster SF with an opponent who could possibly take out Djoker. But, its sports, these things happen; it's what we sign up for as fans.

Yes it’s part of sports he was at the right place at the right time! I certainly wouldn’t pay to watch it

It's the Bulgarian guy at Wimbledon :-D @stringertom will know his name.
No, making 3 different slam SFs means Dimitrov is betterer than many a bum.

Now if you said the Belarusian at Wimby’00, then OK. Voltchkov qualified made SFs by beating Pioline, Ferreira, and Byron Black, then lost to Pete and disappeared again.

Watchn him seems to me he really excelled on the college indoor uber-fast courts, and the challengers, maybe obvious given his big serve and +1+done style.

Seems suited to Wimb. Amazingly good first run here at the AO tho!
