Will it be the two former MC champs in the final, or will the Nordic clay prince take Djokovic down to play Tsitsipas? Ruud will have his chances if Djokovic plays like he did yesterday.
usually in such cases both two time champs whether going in final or being eliminated also both, im really glad you said about that, hope will happen again this time

**** line call cost Sinner the double break in the final set and ultimately gifted Tsitsi the win.
Got anything else except excuses? Rune played 5 hours in two matches on Wednesday and they forced him to play the second match the next day, which he inevitably lost. That was a travesty and deserved the excuse card.

Oh - and Rune was robbed of a point in his TB and still won it while saving 2 MP's.

This match was simply the better player today won, period.

If they used live hawk eye Tsitsi might not have been broken to start the set, though.
I got in late to the match, but it did feel like what they call a "make-up" call in sports since it was egregious. Fortunately, next year all the hawk-eye controversy in clay will end next year.

As much as I want to agree with you but your point about excuse is wrong, it was bad decision on that break point, should have titled the game toward Sinner

Not today. Oh - and Rune was robbed of a point in his TB and still won it while saving 2 MP's.
It was a bad call. Tsitsi played well today but IMO he would not have been able to overcome a double break even if Sinner got tight.

Well, the tournament is over. Can't imagine anything worse than Djokovic-Tsitsipas final. Tsitsipas will now be on a streak of 11 consecutive losses, and counting.

Well overall was until the problem with his leg the slightly better player winning more points, shame for that robbery of the double break. His ground strokes are very effective, no surprise there and he moved very well.

Congrats to Stefanos who played at a (very) high level, is a tough matchup and had on top luck on his side. Happens in tennis.

There is no doubt that Sinner will become one of the great clay court players of his age.

Sinner was careless: he doesn't have a perfect body, but one lacking a certain flexibility, so he shouldn't have executed those jump-airborne 2HBHs, which ended up luxating his knee, which was gone after the MTO both for on-the-run FHs and serves.

Not too confident in his chances after he failed to beat Nadal at the 2022 WTF

I've said that Sinner's build could hold him back. Tpas is one of the tour's most imposing physical specimens

Sinner shows class as he always does in defeat. That call that was way out cost him from going up double break. I understand Tsitsipas had a bad call too, but not near as costly of a point though. Sinner is still playing best all around tennis this year. Happy to see Tsitsipas playing good & also Ruud in other semi final match. They are clay court specialists & both having a great tournament. Novak looks like he’s not in peak form or condition, but still finds a way to win.

Something for the Sinnerfans. It hurts and some troll but embrace the emotions and try to go on as Sinner does with class. He will gift us big victories but even better, great tennis and strong emotions. He will come back with fire in his belly and keep improving and fighting. From the press conference, courtesy of Ubitennis:

Ubaldo Scanagatta, Ubitennis: Dici sempre che si impara da tutte le partite, oggi forse impari che poteva valere la pena fermare il gioco e chiamare il doppio fallo? Saresti andato avanti di due break e secondo me avresti vinto la partita…

Ubaldo: You always say that one learns from every match, maybe today you learned that it was worth it to stop the game and call the double fault? You would have been up two breaks and won the match in my opinion…

Jannik Sinner: “Grazie (sorride, ndr)… Che devo dire, è andata così. Correggere l’arbitro non è il mio lavoro. Dalla sua posizione era abbastanza semplice vedere, però bisogna accettarlo. Ognuno di noi fa degli errori, è andata così. Ho perso una partita importante, ma non sempre può andare come si vuole. La si prende con il sorriso, anche se non è semplice. Domenica anziché essere sul Centrale a giocarmi una bella finale sarò a casa, è così”.

Jannik: “Thanks (smiles) … What can I say, it happened. Correcting the referee is not my work. From her position it was quite simple to see, but one has to accept it. We all make errors, it is what it is. I lost an important match, but it can’t always go one’s way. One has to take it with a smile, even if it isn’t simple. Tomorrow instead of playing a nice final on the Center Court I will be at home, it’s that way.“

And to Sinner’s credit, it took a tired version of him to lose against a top clay court player. He’s going to be dangerous in the coming tournaments and I put him as one of the favorites at Paris especially if he has a favorable draw. What an incredible year he’s having.

well said. He is having a fantastic season and I am very happy for the very good performances on clay against two top clay-specialists like Rune and Tsitsi. Absolutely fantastic. Bravo Jannik

True. Sinner needs to work on his fitness. He’s be imperious, but he’s getting there. I hope he skips Madrid and plays Rome and peaks for RG
I guess there’s still room to grow, but I’m already pretty impressed how far he’s come from being a scrawny kid. Amazing progress.

True, I’m not even too upset. I even posted in my clay court predictions I wasn’t sure about his progression in Monte Carlo. I predicted an early loss due to fatigue but he made the semifinals. I think he should skip Madrid and play only Rome.

If he had won IW and Miami he should’ve skipped Monte Carlo

Yes. I think he’ll make the semifinals or finals at best. I don’t think he’ll win RG

How many slams does he have?

Something didn’t work out hey? Guess Sinner’s B game isn’t as good as Tsitsipas’ A game after all.
He was at C level in that third set after the timeout. But I guess it is what it is. Either way Sinner will have/is having a better career than Tsitsipas

Just a few jumps and his knee is out. That French woman was jumping before receiving each serve with her heavy body in the Wimbledon final and still won it. Not a good excuse. Hopefully the people saying Sinner is a lock for all future GSs will calm down.
