Achilles friendly shoes?

I have had Achilles tendonitis for years. Play everyday and unless I want to go to the local chiro to have him dig down there a coupla times a week it is very important to wear shoes that are Achilles friendly. Have had very good luck with Nike 2K10's but not with the newer 11's and especially the 12's. New Vapor 9's very Achilles friendly but also have high instep and they don't work out the best there. So I'm wondering, since I haven't worn anything but Nike in eons, is there anything else out there that may work. So many shoes have that Achilles "notch" or tons of padding back there or whathaveyou. Any suggestions?

I'm curious if you found out any information on the best shoes for those that have had achilles tendonitis? I found this old thread from 2005 on this forum but it seems very dated:

I'm about to get on the court again after taking almost 4 months off for physical therapy to address my achilles tendonititis and I'm looking for a shoe too. I called Tennis Warehouse, ******* Sports and ************** and they all recommend the Asic Gel Resolution 4 or 5 because it can take an insert and has a good back cushion for the heel. I'd be curious if you tried it.

I have not but a hitting buddy of mine who beats around the tour was off for quite some time with this and has been wearing the Gel Resolution 4 since he came back and has been very pleased. Probably on his 10th pair maybe so they must be getting job done.

I've had pretty good luck with Kswiss and my Achilles tendonitis. Not so much with Nike other than the old Nike Air Max Breathe Cage 2. Will probably give the Asics a try next since I've heard good things.
