ANDRE Agassi is behind Lleyton Hewitt's resurgence after the Aussie was invited to Agassi's home in February and trained with the American he had idolised since he was a kid.

The Las Vegas session was organised by the man who coached both Hewitt and Agassi to the world No.1 ranking, Australian Davis Cup coach Darren Cahill. Agassi's famed conditioner Gil Reyes was also involved in the meeting of superstars.

Hewitt's manager David Drysdale said the US Open and Wimbledon champion had been inspired by Agassi's attitude and advice.

great find, and great news

hewitt's always been one of my favorite players, and favorite players to watch, for his intensity and his solid all-around game

he went into a bit of a dip in 2006 but still didnt do bad at all in the majors....quarters at the french open, wimbledon, and the us open

nice to see this news, as well as his recent play at hamburg....i hope hewitt continues his resurgence because like i've said before...it'd be nice to see a rivalry develop between him and roddick/nadal

since federer/roddick is no rivalry....

Lleyton has always been one of my favourite players and since Agassi's retirement he probably moved to no1 for me. I really hope he becomes a major contender again. I was shocked to read he had not made the semis of a masters for 3 years! His intensity, though maybe lacking for a year or two, is something no other player brings to the court, hopefully he can get back to that. Also, I didnt realise Hewitt had so many fans, previous posts all seem to be positive ones. GO LLEYTON!!!

This is good news for him. If only he could get someone like (or a coaching team that Aggasi had) on the road he would be golden. By the way is Hewitt's manager reladted to Cliff Drysdale by any chance?

One of my fav matches so far this year is Hewitt's match against Nadal in Hamburg. The intensity is coming back. You could feel his determination through the t.v. You just knew he came to play, win or lose. That's something you don't get from many players nowadays, and it's why I've liked Lleyton for a while (minus his jackassery).

He does have alot of fans. It's just when he does something idiotic, the anti-Hewitt people come in droves. That's understandable, of course. But the fact that he's so into his profession and enters the court prepared to battle under any circumstance is what has kept him some fans.

That's the funniest word I've heard in a long time.
