Another tennis channel complaint...

I hate the things that are called...i forgot wuts its called...i think its the "quick fix tips" or something like that. they always get this guy decked out in reebok gear and hes like "y don't you watched my daughter calindy"...the whole thing seems like an ad for his daughter "look at her hit the ball...not bad for a 14 year old...and shes only been playing for 2 years too...wow isn't she amazing..." and its always with her and he always mentions her name, her age, and compliments her profusly...i mean yeah shes pretty good, but stop talking about her sooo much!

i tried the one where youre supposed to volley and sit down in a chair and it didnt even work

Thank you for verifying that Im not the only one that gets pissed off by that guy and his daughter.

He acts like she is just the greatest thing since sliced bread. In reality they probably spend 6-8 hours to film a 30-60 second quick fix tip because "calidny" keeps f'ng the shot up.

I dont want my tips coming from a stuck up pr!ck that is basically just advertising his daughter on tv.

Does the guy go on too much about her? Probably. But, looks like he's doing a great job raising a kid. I just wish him the best when she reaches 15.

Look at Calindy she shoplifted three boxes of extra large condoms from Walmart.

Nice one Calindy, thanks for smashing my BMW. Oh she's only been driving for less than two months. Can you believe that?

ROFLOL, Joe Dinnofer, He's a trip... yeah i guess he's advertising his daughter so she can get sponsored and get a tennis scholarship to some university, if he was showing us how to hit shots on the quick fix tips it would'nt have the same payoff as when he gets his daughter to show us.

Yeah, I bet the stability on that vaccum cleaner sucks! LOL. I really think it is hilarious when she gets those foam balls thrown at her, like she is now ready for any thing.

Take it easy on her and Joe. I actually meet her and watched her play a few points at a tournament last Spring/Summer at the village in Dallas. I took a double take when I first saw her because that face was so familar, and sure enough it was the kid from the TC commericals. She's a nice and polite kid, who seems to be very humble and regular.

I know what you guys are talking about, and they are bad commercials for sure, but he says that she is 12 years old, which she seems a little big for, and he says that she's been playing for 2 years, which is TOTAL bs. Based on the way she hits, she's definitely been playing like at least 3 or 4. One that I saw, she was hitting pretty good forehands with right hand, then on accident hits a left handed forehand instead of a backhand, and it looks almost as good as with her right hand. I'm sorry, two years cannot teach you that.

I remember one of these stupid segments where he had the girl yelling something out over and over again after she hit some shot (I can't remember the scenario, except that it was completely ridiculous and left me in tears laughing). Hopefully someone remembers this segment and what exactly he was trying to accomplish.

I'll say what a couple others have said. At least we have a tennis channel. It's not perfect and has some flaws but I'm fine with it as long as they continue to give extensive coverage of all the Masters Series.

ROFL :-D Seriously, after sitting here studying microbiology for several hours, that made my day!

As extremely awful (in a good way) as that was, that was not the one I was thinking of. I think she was hitting some kind of volleys or overheads and yelling out one word each time before she hit the ball. It was super lame.

I know exactly what you are talking about. You are talking about Joe Dinoffer the guy that does the 1 minute instructional videos between breaks. The guy talks so slow its unbelievable. I kind of like the instruction shows from Brad Gilbert but the ones by Joe Dinoffer are kind of annoying.

Are you talking about that guy "Joe Dinoffer "?? he got all kinds of self innovation for tennis quick fix?? this guy is really sucks.. I felt for his daughter. Last year he showed the ad on TTC that he taught his daughter like 2 month already for serv.. She's terrible..TTC should have a better quality control on the ads.. This Joe is everywhere..

Jeeze I saw a "Quick Fix Tip" this weekend I hadnt seen before. The guy was going on about staying low througout a groudstroke or volley and said he has his daughter us a chair and sit down in it as she makes the stroke. Then when you get the visual of her doing it, I couldnt help but laugh because she looked like a robot that was squatting to take a dump. LOL best one yet!

bless your little heart for starting this thread!!! these quick fix segments were the reason i had to nail down all the furniture in my living room to stop my wife from throwing the couch through the tv the next time she saw calindy!!!

i am desperate to improve my game, but not that desperate!!!!!

The USPTA shows(short or long) on TC are jokes. The USTA ones are much better. I hope they can go to other academies(around the world) to develope some good stuff.

i haven't been on ttw for ages (busy with life and all) . . . but since i spent half the day watching the paris indoors, i thought i'd pop my head in and take a peek-a-loo.

man, was in NOT disappointed! this thread had me in stitches (my neighbors probably think i'm smokin up). that poor calindy. if i were her, i'd say "dad, can you stop referring to me in the quick tip. from now on, you can be the star." HA!

yes. thank you calisurfer for starting this thread. i thought i was the only one that hated those damn commercials. those instructional commercials are of the absolute worst quality. and yeah the one where the girl yells with her crackly voice is the most annoying one.
