Congratulations on making to it to the finals of all four GS Junior Events. Quite an accomplishment.
You should start a blog about your experiences on the tour. I would think TW would be interested in publishing it.
Don't worry about the NFL, the NHL is much more entertaining.
Good luck on the ATP tour when you get there and you will. You obviously have the talent to make it.
If you decide to defect to the USA, we got your back, bro. We need someone like you now that Andy retired.

The main nickname that my friends and some fans call me is Pepe, or Fil.Peliwo, do you have any nicknames that any of your fans call you?
I will start blogging eventually. My brother is working on developing a website for me. It's currently being constructed.Congratulations on making to it to the finals of all four GS Junior Events. Quite an accomplishment.

I have a general nutritional program where I try to periodize what I eat, when, and how much of it. Basically when to load carbs/protein, etc. I try to avoid junk food when I can, but I do enjoy the odd burger and fries here and thereI'm curious if you follow any nutritional regime. Are pizza and burgers as regular a meal as a typical northamericaner your age?
There are many atheletes who improve their diet and reap large benefits (ala Lochte who credits his success to his improved diet & cutting out junkfood, Novak gluten free diet, and David Ortiz paleodiet to name a couple).
Seems there are new revelations and so much information being discovered monthly about diet that even if you do consult a dietitian he may not be up to date on all the recent findings (a problem dealing with 'experts' is they may have pride and may not want to admit to having gaps in knowledge).
There is now discussion on whether all atheletes and individuals can reap benefit from gluten free diet. Seems that over the past decades traditional gluten content has risen because farmers have almost universally switched to hybridized wheat which is much much higher in gluten peptide content than traditional grains like spelt. The gluten can trigger an immune response and can cause inflammation that interferes with recovery.
Its crazy how Novak had more energy than Nadal in the 5th set of AO12final slugfest with his new diet.
Thanks! I'll post the name of the site when it's done. Turning it into a book would be amazing, I'd love to be able to write one eventually.Great!
You actually write pretty well so it should be an interesting read.
Maybe you can turn it into a book someday.
And seriously, give that defection thing some thought.
As long as the racket feels good I'm fine with it. The string are what I am very picky about. If it's even 1lb off I can feel it right away. The grip shape is very important to me as well, as that can get super annoying if it isn't the way I like it.Do you obsess about your rackets?. Are you concerned with a gram or two? A point or two of flex? A pound or two of string tension?
Do you care if a racket is made in China or Austria?

My loyalty remains to Canada first and foremost, and after that to my Polish background
Lol I'll figure something out eventually.Yes, O Canada ain't all bad. Too damn cold though.
You'll need to buy a house in Florida or Arizona or So Cal eventually. Or, Monte Carlo to shield your income.
Dude, you are 18, and in training, eat whatever you want.

More the Wilson vs Head grip shape. Haven't got any custom grips. Even with some of my own Blades 98s, I can feel a difference in the grip shape, so I might have to find one I like and customize some molds after that. So, do you get custom made grips then? Or, is it just the Wilson versus Head grip shape thing?
I have some rackets that have custom made grips from Agassi's grip mold. (Wayne Ferreira's rackets). They do have a nice feel. But, they don't make me run any faster, unfortunately.
I never dropped school, I'm still working to finish it.First and foremost, thanks a ton for this thread. Love your game and your attitude seems top notch
At what point in your life did you decide to drop every form of schooling and go pro full-time?
Have any goals/preliminary plans of where you see yourself at the end of next year?
Thanks!
Thanks a lot, I might look into that!Roman Prokes out of NYC does custom grips. So does Nate Ferguson in Tampa, I believe. I imagine someone in Canada does them as well. The Agassi grips that Prokes makes are in between 3/8 and 1/2. But, they probably have many different sizes/shapes available.
I wish you the best on the tour. I hope you stay healthy like Fed has managed to do all these years. Look at Frank Dancevic, he was doing great until he blew out his back. I hope the breaks all go your way.
Roman = RP NY in NYC
Nate Ferguson (was Sampras' customizer) is Priority One (P1) in Tampa-area FL, his shop is in Wesley Chapel.
I have some frames that Nate customized for another former world junior #1 who played on the pro tour.
Haha I would love to say yes, but unfortunately I don't :/Oh, here's a good question!
Do your sponsors give you custom fitted clothes? I'm just wondering because Rafa's clothes always fit so much better and look so much better on him than me... Either they are custom fitted or Rafa is just much more attractive than me
So I'm hoping, yes, you guys get custom fitted clothes...
Oh God... But do any of them!? Do you know?Haha I would love to say yes, but unfortunately I don't :/

Yeah, Canada is such a cold country, but we have nice igloos. Our mukluks are really stylish too.1.How does a players who are bought up in cold countries adjust to the weather of HOT countries.Like you are born in Canada,a cold country. So how does it affect you when you play in Australia or any place which is pretty hot.Do you take special pre-cautions or is it something that you develop through
your training?
Hi Filip,
Do you know anyone on the ATP tour who take performance enhancing drugs, human growth hormone, steroid, or any kind of dope?
What do you think of people who are doping?
Do you think ITF and ATP are hiding doping cases that are happening in pro tennis?
Has anyone ever offered you dopes?
I haven't ever heard of anyone getting custom fitted clothing, although I wouldn't be surprised if the top guys did get that service.Oh God... But do any of them!? Do you know?
And if others do I'm sure you'll be able to someday. You seem determined enough! Your comment about tennis coming before girls really convinced me of that.
I always adjusted to the heat quite easily. It doesn't really bother me, I find I handle it quite well compared to other people. One example was when I went to Australia, and beat a good Aussie player in the warmup tournament. After the match he told me how surprised he was at the fact that he had more trouble with the heat than I did, and he lived and trained there. I guess you just get used to it if you travel to play in that climate enough.Hey Filip welcome to our surreal world of ttw!
I am a causal tennis fan from India.Red about you and saw your videos on yotube.I hope you do well and go big in future tourneys.I am not much into the technicalities of the game.
But here's a few silly questions for ya which bugs me..

2.There's an ever raging debate about court speeds,so which is the fastest court you have ever played? Is Wimbledon faster than US Open?
Any response would be highly appreciated!
I honestly haven't heard of these until now. I stick with my Blades, and they usually show me whatever they do with those sticks. So to answer your question, no, I have not tried those rackets.Filip,
Wilson is coming out with a new stick in January which was inspired by the now illegal spaghetti strings.
It's a crazy 16x15 pattern. The idea is that the Mains will be able to move more freely as they are not anchored down by the crosses. It's supposed to give sort of a "slingshot" or "SnapBack" effect shooting the ball out and increasing RPM's by quite a bit according to lab tests.
The racquet is called the Wilson steam 99S ( also in 105). Being that you have a Wilson endorsement have you ever tried this stick? Do you have any thoughts about it?
I realize that you are endorsed by Wilson and That you must be careful of what you can and cannot say.
Filip Congratulations on the Lacoste contract. Will you wear Lacoste shoes too? Seems no ATP players wear the Lacoste shoes, even the players who wear the Lacoste clothing (Chardy, Kudla, Llodra, etc.) which is very nicely designed and styled. Is there something wrong with the Lacoste shoes? The only player I've seen wearing them was Mats Wilander last year for his Wilander on Wheels Tour in Delray Beach, FL but I noticed he has stopped wearing them too.

As far as court speed goes, I would say the are quite similar, but Wimbledon feels a lot faster as the ball skids. At US Open, the ball bounces really high, so if feels like you have a lot more time. Can't say for sure though, as I don't remember the speeds at Wimbledon perfectly.

I like playing in front of a huge crowd. The bigger the stadium the better.Fillip
Does playing in a bigger stadium / court gives you more energy / scare ?
How do you think you will handle when you play on the center court or Arthur Ashe the first time ?
