Thats the cost of half a set just about everywhere.

Awww... now I get it. Sorry, didn't understand that's what you were trying to say. I thought it was the whole set you found for $4.50... or a reel that made the per string job cost go down.

Thanks for clarifying. :)

Bringing this topic to life, after I strung my Pro Staff with some AK PRO CX 124... can't wait to try this string... after my shoulder heals... :(

This string has some great reviews and it really cheap... just difficult to find!

Anyone likes it as a full bed?

Personally, I didn’t like it as a full bed. I used the 17g in my Yonex Vcore Pro HD (18x20) and after about 2 hours of solid 4.5 hitting they started to not snap back. Having to straighten strings after every point got annoying real fast. Playabiity was still there and durability was decent, but the lack of snapback made me cut it out after about 8 hours of playtime. I recently tried the string again, but am trying to find a good slick cross to use, so I can have AK CX as a main.

didn't expect to find other VCP users liking this string. niche combo - I wonder if it's a personality thing or maybe fandom of Japanese products.

I really love AK Pro CX in a full bed in my VCP 330 2019 racquet. however, like @indy_account, I found the strings notch and lock after just a few hours, and the strings lose their magic (though I didn't have to straighten my strings - they just got stuck). I felt like Kim Clijsters in those first few hours though, got a nice "sling" effect on my shots even out of the corners.

I'm not particularly a string breaker though, so it is disappointing how quickly they notch. but fair enough considering how comfortable they are.

As a bit of a tangent, I recently sold a PA23 to a girl who's normal string setup is VS Touch 1.30 mains / RPM Blast 1.25 crosses, and I wanted the racquet to have a fresh string job for her, but I didn't have any natural gut on me at the time, so I used AK Pro CX 1.30 in its place, and she loved it. Actually, she liked it so much that it's become her alternate setup, and the one she goes to in more wet conditions especially. Also, I also noticed an insane amount of snapback right off the stringer, due to both AKPCX and RPM being silicone oil coated. Very nice combo it would seem.

@arsen - Yes, but they're the same CX fibers as are present in the natural color. Same string, just with black dye added. I'm sure that makes playability ever-so-slightly different, too, but likely not enough for most to notice.

The black and the natural play the same for this string. It’s a great synthetic gut.
