Bookmakers say Nole is the favorite to win the French Open

Bookmakers odds are reflected by the money placed on the player. Not entirely on the probability of a player winning.

Whose odds are more accurate than bookies' odds?

Bookmakers had Nadal as the favourite for the Rome final! And so did Rusedski!
And how did their prediction turn out?!

I wonder why 5555 didn't post these kind of threads then.

I'll quote what booson told you:

"Odds are probabilities. High probabilities do not guarantee that something will happen. I don't know what's your point."

Every time Nole is installed the favourite at RG, he fails to deliver. Let's hope history repeats itself. Rafa for a 9th RG title. No one else deserves it and besides BO5, he will be hard to beat.

This is the first time that Nole has been installed as the bookies' favorite for the French Open. It's never happened before.

Don't trust the bookmakers because they said Nole was the favorite at the AO.

I'll quote what Gonzo_style told you:

"Ok, who was the favorite at the AO '14?"

Seriously? Nadal going for his ninth French Open Title (fifth in a row) while Djokovic has made one final (lost to Nadal in 2012) and he's ready to be considered the favorite?

Odds makers can say what ever they want but Nadal is the king of this court my friend... End of story/line the odds makers up in the circle and send the bulls out.

Keep the bet on Nadal and place the other £500 on Murray through to the SF. He's my man but that's as far as he's going. You'll make good.

Just Saying... Put all you're money (if you listened) on Nadal. Lets just face it: He's the King of Clay!

how many people who "know tennis" would put their house on him tonight? answer......none
depending on brain capability and all

If you read the original posts: he planned on putting 500 on Nadal and 500 on Nole. I advised him to put the original 500 on Nadal to win the tournament and the other 500 on Andy Murray to make it through to the Semi-Final which would have made him a bundle (this was a pre-tournament bet)

5555 has no understanding of the way bookmakers work. They don't try to predict outcomes, they try to make money. It is a business. Obviously as the tournament progressed, and especially after the semis, it was obvious that Nadal was the favorite, so the bookies adjusted to decrease the money coming in on Nadal, to minimize their losses.

^ It's ridiculous isn't it?

Bookies aren't there to provide a forecasting service for the public as 5555 seems to believe.
