Carlos Alcaraz News

Some welcome news from Carlos, who had said following his match he wasn’t 100% comfortable with his right arm but this clarifies what he meant.

Translation:”I felt very good on the court. I haven't noticed anything on the forearm. Even if I don't want to, it's in my head. In every right hand, in every forced ball. I surprised myself with the level I played today. It was a very complete game."

He easily defeated Shevchenko 6-2, 6-1 today with some wonderful touch shots and it seemed that while his injury was playing on his mind, it certainly didn’t show. A pretty effortless and smooth performance today. (y)

Didn't get to see the full match yet, but did watch the highlights. Moving great and hitting well, so looking like at lest 90%. We will see when he has a tough opponent though. If he plays like this for Madrid he is a contender for the title, and bodes well for RG.

Carlos Alcaraz lost yesterday in the quarterfinals
of the Mutua Madrid Open against Andrey Rublev. At the conclusion of the match, the tennis player
met in the gym with all the members of his team. He explained to them the sensations he had had on the track and that they had not been the best
in his right arm. That is why Alcaraz, as MARCA has learned, will carry out tests in the area this Friday to rule out any physical setback. If the results are positive, the Murcian has already designed his roadmap for
the Rome Masters 1000. Carlitos would return to training on Saturday. On Sunday he will be able to spend his 21st birthday with his family and friends and it will not be until next Tuesday, May 7, when he will travel to Rome to play the Masters 1000 in the Italian capital. As seeded he could make his debut on Saturday. He will be accompanied by Samuel López as coach, as he already did at the Australian Open, last year at Queen's or the previous year at the Miami
Open.

Thank for that. Adding the text for ease of reading.
Fingers crossed for Carlitos.

I felt pain after playing in Madrid, discomfort in my arm. Today I had some tests and I have muscle edema in the pronator teres, a consequence of my last injury. Unfortunately I won't be able to play in Rome. I need rest to recover and be able to play 100% pain-free

Poor Carlos, such bad luck to have all this happen during the clay season.

That's more than sad; I'd say regretable Carlos played Madrid. Those kinda injuries cannot be rushed.

There are a few factors to look at for a full recovery. One of them unfortunately is the tennis racket which ought to be easier to deal with than the player's style of playing. But there are those sponsorship agreements.

I hope Carlos will be back for FO.

Which is incredibly stupid. Just like i said couple days ago. He will try to play through this injury instead of healing and recovering at 100%. We might get exact repeat of Madrid. He will end the tournament with another injury...
I Hope not, his team probably has more info than us, in retrospect playing Madrid was a bad decisión but ultimately, the player has the last Word and he was feeling good, everything that happens will teach him something, but this is a strange tennis year so far, with sinner winning those many matches then injured, Alcaraz injured the whole clay season, rafa in a kind of farewell year, and djokovic on the decline, lets see the second part of the season

Unless you’ve some insider knowledge you can possibly know that. For all we know, he’s been checked and he no longer has fluid on his elbow.

Yeah but he is still with that compresión thing, It obviously isnt totally gone, plus he has basically no rythm, so i dont see possible that he is 100% for Roland garros, doesnt mean that he cant win It, but hes gonna need to warm Up into the tournament and hope to not find anybody playing great that day, we Will see

I know what you mean but it may be just a preventative thing to support the arm given it’s going to play on his mind. They do have the experience of what happened in Madrid so hopefully the situation is not what it was then. Fingers crossed.
