Comparing Revo 4000, SP Jazz, Gamma X-ST or Progression ST II

Have been comparing Revo 4000 $549, SP Jazz $599, Progression ST II $629 and Gamma X-ST $659 .

I assume all give accurate and reproducable tension results. They seem to be pretty much the same.

Just wondering which have the best mounting system and clamps. Basically, what do you get for the difference in price from the Revo up to the X-ST?

try searching the forum.

if you need more info about the Gamma machines I can give it to you. I could look at some pictures about the other brands and probably give you some info too.

Don't go with the Jazz. I don't like the clamps or the tensioner, and I think the mounting is harder to work with. I used to have an Estringer FL and liked it better than the Jazz. My friend has the Jazz, which I am using as one of my stringing machines at this point. I own the Gamma X-ST and it is worlds better than the Jazz. I have never used a Revo.

Thanks for the info on the Jazz, I was leaning that way but will pass on it.

Alpha Revo seems to use the exact same mounting system as the cheap Eagnas I have, except for the k supports. Can anyone confirm this? No matter how tightly I adjust it the racquet still moves so I certainly don't want to buy the same mount again.

Canceling out the Jazz, IMO the Gamma stringers you posted have the best (supportive) mounting system.

Alpha has good quality stringers, and they are cheaper, so I'd go with the revo. Unless you like the sleek look of the Progression stringers, get them (plus, you get free strings if you order them in TW)

I'm pretty sure the Alpha is going to have better mounting than Eagnas, which are poorly made "out of papers". ;)

Overhead, The Alpha Revo mounting system will be a solid six point mounting system. Nice solid, cast turntable and spring assist clamps. Great service from Alpha as well. They will support and back-up their machines. Cheap Eagnus and Alpha are antonyms!

I don't think you can go wrong with either a Gamma or Alpha machine. I have had my Gamma ST II for over five years and have never regretted buyig it so I am biased toward the Gamma machines.
