haha, yeah, it's all crazy. PK Q+5X Pro, the 2021 version, yellow and blackThis thread needs an appendix of racquet nicknames. Wth is a top banana?
The temptation is strong to get VC #3 now. But that would delay the VCP 100. But I could get a new racquet, bag, and grips right now.

Once these last two frames deliver, I'll probably place my order. Even though it means paying retail for a frameThats my motto.

I just posted the specs for the new VCP line in over in the VCP official thread. I may not be buying the VCP 100 at all now. The specs just don't speak to me and there's the fact that this iteration has 8 mains in the throat.
Snake skin was snake oil but Dunlop’s dimples were mimicking sharkskin which isn’t snake oil!Racquet tech that actually makes sense to me and I can feel. Unlike Dunlop's snake skin dimples adding aerodynamics for swingspeed. Or whatever that was a few years back.
Yeah, he definitely does. I’ve seen him live by the motto with my own eyes. Dude practices what he preaches. Gotta respect that.this guy gets it

I don't know. I was hoping for at least a 65 RA on the 100. Maybe I just need time to process.Barely thicker (but still-thin beams) for added pop, lower RAs for more comfort and control? I don't know man, the line looks good to me.

Seems like forever ago that I was devoted to sub-100 head size, thin beamed, leather gripped 18x20 frames with low 60s RA and dreams of pinpoint placed laser-guided flat blasted missiles. Also, weren't you 18x20 Or Death not long ago and now you're complaining about 8 center mains?
I don't even know who you are anymore.
Such extreme “mood” swings. Lol.Seems like forever ago that I was devoted to sub-100 head size, thin beamed, leather gripped 18x20 frames with low 60s RA and dreams of pinpoint placed laser-guided flat blasted missiles.
But that man is gone now. In his place stands he who worships at the alter of the of the 100, 16x19 pattern, spin generating merchants of destruction who has little regard for anything other than frames with closely matched static and swing weights and thoughts of how sharply the next shot can be hit and dropped into the court.
I'll kindly remind you that all of this is your fault.Such extreme “mood” swings. Lol.
Ah. The blame game.I'll kindly remind you that all of this is your fault.
You started with the needling about the Prestige Pro and how its 16x19 pattern wasn't that far off from 18x20 patterns in terms of density. That planted the idea that started all of this.Ah. The blame game.
how so? It’s not like you didn’t already have it in your dna already. Lol. Perhaps a few of us were responsible for redirecting that energy.

That is beside the point sir.And now you’re so much better off for it.
Snake oil or not, I enjoyed the Biomimetic 200 a lot, and even the 200 lite which was my first foray into open patternsSnake skin was snake oil but Dunlop’s dimples were mimicking sharkskin which isn’t snake oil!
Yeah, but did the sharkskin dimples increase your rhs?Snake oil or not, I enjoyed the Biomimetic 200 a lot, and even the 200 lite which was my first foray into open patterns
I used to be the same. I liked the gravity pro, blade 18/20, prestige MP. Now that I’ve realized I’m just not good enough or have enough endurance or strength to wield a player’s frame, it’s almost relieving to use a racquet that’s easy and won’t tire me out. I honestly win more matches with tweeners than the player frames.Seems like forever ago that I was devoted to sub-100 head size, thin beamed, leather gripped 18x20 frames with low 60s RA and dreams of pinpoint placed laser-guided flat blasted missiles.

They absolutely did. .033%Yeah, but did the sharkskin dimples increase your rhs?
Exactly. I went from loving the feel of my frame and losing to a less sublime feel but better play and winning.I used to be the same. I liked the gravity pro, blade 18/20, prestige MP. Placebo effect, perhaps? They absolutely did. .033%
same here. used to use the same racquets you have mentioned, plus more, like UT, PT630/PT2.0 wtc. post the lockdown... but eventually gone to the 100 sq" tweeners these daysI used to be the same. Currently alternating ptp and confidential. But ptp bring in more vibration/feel through the handle than confidential. The answer to that could definitely be that confidential is even more muted !I can see that. The new YYs are already muted so PTP would only rob feel even more.
That VCP 100 could GOAT real hard and give the Doppio a nice run for it's money. The 310 97 is a great frame as well, but I suspect it may not have the beans. Meanwhile, a leather grip on the 100 and things could get cray-cray. That low flex tells me that the frame could have that really nice VCP feel that I am a fan of. Possible demo for me.
On a side note, I love the PJ. May be one of the most epic ones I have seen in a while. Synthwave/Miami/80's - Tennis being played to a City Pop soundtrack.
It was looking at the static and swing weight numbers on the 100 that made me realize I still need to try it. It's right there in the happy zone for me.Peak nerdism here but they upped the beam width from 21 to 23 on the 100 whereas they went 1 mm bigger on all the rest to a lovely 21mm. I like 100s to be thinner, otherwise they can feel a tad chunky to me. The OG Iga and the Doppios, for example, feel more like 98s through the air than 100s. Though with these specs the 100 VCP will probably still swing super easy. Specs on the outgoing one look great - did anyone in here ever try it? - but the TW reviewers, grain of salt, all say it was lacking power so maybe that's why they're adding even an extra mm here. Anyway, the 97 310 and the 100 are nice looking frames with potential. The heftier boys will probably be epic for good players but the SWs are ambitious for most.

Last night I played with a PA VS and it was good. No, actually it was delicious. I might be going across the street to Francois’s cafe for a while. Lorenzo will understand…….
When your arm is mummified like Alcaraz's, Lorenzo will be there...
It’s why I love Lorenzo. As I inevitably walk back into his place, he’ll just just give me a stern look, and then break out in a smile as he hands me a Doppio and a cannoli without me even asking. As he hands it to me, he’ll hold it just a bit longer than needed and playfully shake his head and usher “stronzo” under his breath.
Francois will be watching from across the street, smoking a cigarette, unfazed.

yeah the 100 i suspect needs that extra thickness because of the lower flex and no magic bean technology. Kind of shame there, but if they can hit the magic inbetweener lottery of feel, control plus power, i believe it could grab a lot of converts since thats such a rare frame right now.
The 310 felt so good. Maddog and I both loved it but the issue was making it work in terms of power. Some well placed lead helped but i never truly cracked the code.Kept working at it though and then one day the blade v7 came out and that grabbed my attention for quite a long time and ended my yy run until the ez100.
if the 100 has the feel andcomfort of the 97s,it will be a big hit for yonex, imo.
I'm starting to feel a bit more optimistic about the 100. Considering the beam width isn't far off the Eurostaff, it could be a solid entry in the pleener field. I'm still skeptical that it might be underpowered since the YY rep said the VCP line is all about the feel and flex.yeah the 100 i suspect needs that extra thickness because of the lower flex and no magic bean technology. The beam width of the Eurostaff is actually 21.5mm not the 22.5 that TW seem to have decided upon. So bear that in mind. A 23mm beam will surely feel noticeably thicker than a Doppio or Eurostaff.I'm starting to feel a bit more optimistic about the 100. Demo? What is this word in English..demo? It's a straight purchase all the way.Looks like an August 24th release in the states for the VCP line. I'm still wavering on whether the 100 will be a straight purchase or a demo but I will hit it one way or another.
If the RA had been 65, it would have been a straight purchase. But the 63 has me thinking that it won't be anywhere close in the level of pop that I've become accustomed to.Demo? What is this word in English..demo? It's a straight purchase all the way.
