umm not so fast, i still have two sons of zeus and ET to try. I don't know when but might be right for an all court game.
We need you back in the game.

I'll admit to some curiosity about the Zus frames. But the VC95 is so so good.umm not so fast, i still have two sons of zeus and ET to try. I don't know when but might be right for an all court game.
I was thinking the exact same thing just this week. I'm definitely looser with a heavier racquet. I just feel like once I get it going correctly the rest is less effortful. For me I think the trick is to find the heaviest racquet that doesn't injure me and that I can wield for 3 sets. I've been using Doppio and the Banana Lite. I'm starting to lean toward the Banana Lite with lead and leather for the extra weight and plush feel. Swinging it feels just a tad more natural and effortless than the Doppio in spite of the extra heft.I actually, usually feel looser when I have some bigger heft in the hand. Frames like the BP make me get loose because I kind of know even more so that I need the kinetic chain and form to get it through. And the frame will do more of the work with its heft. The Top Banana feels a little more substantial in the hand even though it's essentially identical in static weight, and I feel myself pretty relaxed in swinging it. Doppio, though, I feel loose on the forehand because I just know and trust it at this point. I do feel like I have to swing a little harder with it to get the same top banana ball, but because of the whip that isn't much issue. But I've felt myself maybe pressing a little on the backhand, possibly because I know that's where it's lacking compared to the top banana and so I'm kind of trying to get it to 'play up' on that wing.
So this is becoming a philosophical question: do you play the frame that gives you your most consistent forehand, which after all is your most hit stroke? Or do you use something that positively weaponizes your backhand, and is pretty amazing at the forehand overall, but does give you those fliers from time to time? The fliers don't come often, but they have always driven me mad when they do come, no matter the stick. That's the main reason why traditionally I've never been into true tweeners/power sticks.

I have a 2H backhand. I get a little more plow and pop with the Banana Lite. The Doppio is good but the ball is not as heavy. The weight and loose wrists just helps me drop the racquet into the slot when I start to rotate my hips and initiate my 2H backhand from the ready position. I also experienced this with the 97HD. The weight and balance of my B Lites for me is just fluid perfection.Do you have a one or two hander? Difference in shots for you between the two sticks?
I’m wondering if some more heft/SW also helps me on the 2H, or whether it’s just the added length of XLs that gives me what I’m feeling.
I can still sting the 2H with the Doppio, just not as effortlessly as with the TB (or 7G) which plows two-handers effortlessly and without any thinking.
Been there with the 2020 Ezones - I’ve hit them all except the 100s and the 98+. Not sure why I’m going back to the 98, maybe because I’m thinking I could gel with it with the right string setup. Have you tried the ET with a thinner/livelier poly to open up the sweet spot?so...i got my ez98s on Monday, but i think i'm back on the market as a free agent. 2 full sessions with the ezones strung with YPTP at 47/44 causing wrist and elbow issues that i've never had with the PAs strung higher with stiffer strings. might be following Mr. Player with the VCP310...or may be the guinea pig and order that prince vortex with the 25% off sale. somebody's gotta try it.

Did you try the eurostaff yet?

Eurostaff is not like the 6.1 at all to me. It's pro staff through and through.
the eurostaff is a prostaff through and through or the 6.1 is?
I am starting to suspect it is the length. The reason being is I am hitting some of my best backhands with the VC95 - which has that long handle. The SW is really low.
I am looking at them every day curious as hell. The striker feels a bit dampened strung with a zus shaped string. The custom feels pretty sweet at least in my living room. It's strung with a round zus poly. I know nothing of these strings. Sigh I need to take my slinger outI'll admit to some curiosity about the Zus frames. But the VC95 is so so good.
I didn’t love it with Lynx Tour either. Much better with a string like Hyper G Soft 1.20 or even Hawk 1.25.i've tried the ET w/ lynx tour, but it's just not my cup of tea. it plays decently for me and has insane amounts of spin, but just did not enjoy hitting with it.
Try TB in it. It's killer for me.
The eurostaff. The 6.1 is a different line by Wilson and I would argue to be the better one. But the pro staff line has that sweet Kevlar feel to it.
Figures. That's how it always go. Still using 47/45 because it seems to work for me.Great. The 1 string I don't have. I have like a dozen different strings but not TB. I still have 2 sets of TS. Maybe I'll give that a shot. Otherwise I'll have to stop by TE over the weekend to pick up TB. What tension are you using?
Played one of the best and longest matches I've played in a long time last night with the UP. My 2HBH return is much better with this frame and probably helped aid in my 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory. All around I'm playing slightly better than with the PP, the only place I can't beat the PP is on my server. I find the GTPP to be a killer on serves and I'm hitting less aces with the UP. I have gained some ability to move the ball around. When I got tired in the third set I started putting serves in a spot and play S&V tennis with a lot of success. I was down 1-4 in the third set and brought it back for the win.
The best thing is the comfort level of this frame. I was able to finish a 2 hour and 38 minute match and not deal with the wrist pain I have had all summer. I'm playing in a singles ladder and my opponent was three rungs above me last week, and then after some shuffling we ended up 3-4 and played evens up this week. All in all I think for the time being I'm playing the UPs as a primary, with the PP and UT still in the bag.
Side note, temps are lower than a few weeks ago but 80 degrees with 72% humidity is brutal. I fell at one point and the guy on the court next to me (one of my USTA teammates) had to stop and laugh at the Taylor15 shaped body print on the court.
those drop shots were insane. what a match.Loving this match.
My god, that was historic.
Whoa! We watched it in the car on the way to the Open. Epic.Carlos Alcaraz. Man.
105 mph forehands. Casual. Gonna have to give the PAVS another look…Carlos Alcaraz. Man.
Never been happier to be able to watch a match. Amazing mental strength to hold on after that 4th setLoving this match.

I was just checking out the PAVS spec. The 16x20, 8m and 32x SW looks interesting.105 mph forehands. Casual. Gonna have to give the PAVS another look…
Thanks! I’ve been having a descent singles season lately, but this match was by far my favorite win this year. My opponent was quick, which is usually my thing - beat them with speed. Since he matched that I had to actually hit hard and be accurate. Really enjoying league lately, I didn’t when I lived on the other side of AtlantaThat’s awesome, man. Congrats. Your post makes me jones a little more for some league action. I miss those days, and the mental problem solving required against new opponents with new quirks.

and to think i was ready to dig my eyes out watching Fritz play yesterday. i hope some young kid in the US watched this match and gets inspired.

Pavs about to sell outI was just checking out the PAVS spec. The 16x20, 8m and 32x SW looks interesting.
edit - sorry stupid me, it is actually 6m, not 8m…
The slo mo shots of his 105 mph forehands show how perfectly a pro can maintain form when unloading on a ball. Not that they always do, but his form looked like a practice swing until you see it in real time. There is a lesson in that, but I want to swing out of my shoes anyway.Yeah that was just perfect tennis. He hit every shot in the book.
Not sure the PAVS is gonna get anyone here to his level..lol. This kid could hammer the ball with any frame. He has fantastic timing off both sides.
But let me just say - 16x20 is coming up.

Tsitsipas on Alcaraz: “I’ve never seen someone hit the ball so hard. It took some time to adjust.”
That’s saying something. And the kid isn’t even that big.
(it must be the PA Vs)
Its all in the legs. And then you add exceptional hand eye for timing and that's a special combo.
This guy just has enormous talent. It honestly felt like he would not miss on either side quite often during the match.
I read where he has to get PRP injections in his elbow sometimes so I doubt the PA VS is going to be kind to the rec players arm who can't hit nearly as clean as this guy.
But man, this is a tennis player. I hope he makes a deep run. But now I have to root for my boy Tiafoe - who is the nicest dude. His game is a lot less efficient than Alcaraz though..lol.
Yeah, all my PA Vs posts are in jest. I want no part of that stick. He had his elbow wrapped in what looked like Saran Wrap a couple tourneys ago and I pray for his health because the talent is all there and what we need as the Next Guy. Also hoping Tiafoe kills it. If he does, it’ll be one of the more memorable days at the Open.
Dude I feel like you could get him to PK. Maybe an IG message from Lorenzo "hey try out the Banana Lite - 16x20, better on the arm..".
Imagine.
Afraid he’s far too cool for PK. Lorenzo knows his crowd, and just the man to target and keep funding: the aging, unflashy veteran, still hanging on. But now goating in lime.

The PAVS has been my favorite stick this year. As much as I’m loving my PK, the PAVS elevated my game from the very second I picked it up during my demo. Point and shoot, nice feel, awesome control.
I went PK for two reasons:
- Why tempt fate and mess up my shoulder (I have a history), although I never felt any bad vibes, and 2;
- The price. In Canada it’s pretty much a 2 PK for 1 PAVS price difference.

Or maybe the irony of it all will appeal. He is 18. You never know. The 90's is working for them now and Dad fashion is also in.
Serge waits for Alcaraz’s emergence to come off the Canadian top rope with this info. Brilliant.
I’m pretty sore I wrote about it, and you promptly pointed me toward Alacraz’s arm LOL
But yeah, the PAVS is one hell of a racket, probably the best 16/20 I ever hit.
Too bad they didn’t sell because there won’t be any on the second hand market.
