Djokovic is a Clutch Player!

I am not getting on his bandwagon but his recent showing at Montreal, his heroic exploits at Wimbledon when he should have clearly lost to Baghdatis are showing us greater glimpses of his calmness under pressure.

In the semi-fianal over Nadal Djokovic saved 8 bp's and saved 6 set points against Federer. He also outplayed Roddick at his own game; serving. He outaced Roddick in the QF match and had almost double the amount Roddick had which was around 6.

So far, Djokovic is playing 'real deal' tennis; but it remains to be seen if he can replicate this form at Grand Slams. However, the next 5 grand slams he plays will be interesting to watch. It will be good to see how he performs with even greater confidence having beaten all the top players in the world and currently cementing his position as the third best player in the world.

Absolutely spot on. I agree completely.

Great post and couldn't agree more! Novak Djokovic is getting there. I think this last Masters that he won will be a shot in the arm for him, just what he needed to get the confidence level to where it should be. Beating Nadal and Federer in consecutive matches is no ordinary feat.

I hope he wins the U.S Open and if he does pull it off, you could be seeing a changing of guard over the coming months.

Djokovic is clutch, Nadal is clutcher, Isner is clutchest

if i had to take one person to win a 5th set tiebreaker or something like that, those are my choices

(Federer is just exempt; he's not necessarily clutch, he's just freaking amazing all the time. Those 3 step it up beyond the norm in clutch situations).
