Do any of the new 4.0's not want to get bumped to 4.5?

I am one of the newly bumped 3.5's to 4.0 and am really enjoying the quality of tennis and better talent I'm playing during matches. I took 12 years off from tennis (previously was a 3.5) and started back as a 3.0 and have moved up the last 2 years.

This summer I'm going to attend just about every clinic, lesson and academy that I can because I want to get better. I have some weaknesses in my game that need to be addressed.

That being said, in my area there isn't much demand for 4.5 players. There aren't really many opportunities to play USTA tennis. Now, it's a long shot that I'll ever get to 4.5 but with a lot of hard work it's possible. However, I was curious if other people are hesitant to improve because it will limit their opportunities to play competitively?

The higher level of tennis you play the fewer the players there will be to play with. It is just the nature of the beast.

I think USTA leagues max out around 5.0 here, so I've got plenty of room to grow (and want/hope to).

I'd like to see the highest level in every section be an Open level, so that any players could compete no matter what level they may get bumped to.

I played my first run of 4.5 league this winter, and that's where I want to be. I'm a "newly bumped" 4.0, but I've got 4 full seasons of 4.0 under my belt.

Recent bump up here and am happy to have been. I now have 4 years to make the next .5 bump to 5.0, I hope!
